People who do not identify exclusively with male or female, or who do not want to divulge their gender, will have the option to do so when booking airline flights starting in June.
The industry group that represents the biggest U.S.-based airlines told The Daily Beast that it “will add new gender options in order to accommodate non-binary passengers who have ‘X’ on their IDs.”

You know....back in the 1980s...it was pretty simple. Just lift off on time...get my bag there...pass me a Coke in the middle of the flight...make sure the toilet works...and make the price reasonable.
Bringing up some binary-stuff....I’m liable to start thinking it’s some piece of the wing lift business, and I have to pay extra for that ‘lift’ to be used on this flight

I started my teeth grinding early today...
It's always been a part of the purchasing process for as long as I can recall. Name, birthdate, and gender were the 3 things they'd ask for to book a flight. Basically just to make sure that you are the one who bought the ticket, or it was purchased for. In person, I guess they'd always been "assuming one's gender" when we weren't buying online.
My first thought is perhaps some primary IDs (state driver licenses) have third options and perhaps airlines require or passengers request that there be a perfect match. Thus, if State X has a third gender and the person chooses it, it needs to be an exact match.
Remember the Twilight Zone episode where Donna Douglas was considered the ugly duckling and desired plastic surgery to look similar to the rest of that society? The way the liberals control the media and pop culture, we may not be too far away from that belief.
How is this going to work with the security at Airports?
This is just insane.

TSA will have to hire non-binary agents.
Reminds me of flying out of Newark once and a female TSA agent told three males to go against a wall. She then yelled “Male call, male call” looking for an available male agent. I wonder if she will now call “Non-binary call... non-binary call.”
The other reason for knowing the person’s sex is that if there is a crash, they can better identify the bodies. “X” means the recovery team won’t know what they are looking for.
Whenever I fly I always identify myself as the Queen of Spain...yet the airlines still stick me in Coach and demand that I pay $4 for a small can of Sprite.
