Immigration hawks slammed the border security compromise President Trump signed into law Friday for containing last-minute provisions that they argued give "amnesty" to many but a Department of Homeland Security official insisted to Fox News thats a misunderstanding of the bill.

We’ll know more as people read the bill.
You’d think the morons at the orwellian DHS would be immigration hawks but they’re all open border hillary voters
Someone ought to tell Ann Coulter....she’s climbing the walls of whatever asylum she is ensconced in.
Spin it however you want, but the reality is that this bill will increase “catch and release.” 99% of those that are released are never deported. It’s a loophole for open borders and now because of this bill, the loophole is even bigger.
It certainly looks that way. They’ll do and say anything to de-rail PDJT’s agenda.
Look for the cell covered with pictures of Romney.
Right, now the spin is going full. DHS is filled with Obongo open border activists. The POS bill is a f’n disaster and now MSM will be going all tell sell it until 20 when they will be only to happy to call it Trumps read my lips.
As Army Air Corps stated, we need to read the bill ourselves to determine what is and isn’t in it.
I have heard that POTUS has the original bill on his desk, not the latest that contains the pills. That bill he would sign, not the last minute bill the Dems put forward.
Time will tell.
I don’t mind constructive criticism of Trump, but the vile nonsense coming out of her mouth is obscene.
Is this true? Trump had to sign it?
Trump signed the budget bill, but there’s a major detail the MSM will never say: Trump was FORCED to sign it, because he can only veto a bill that does not get 2/3 majority in the Senate. If it gets more than 2/3 majority, he has no choice.
78.8 percent of Republicans opted to vote against Trump! The budget passed by 83-16, WAY over a 2/3 majority. So a VAST MAJORITY of Republicans screwed their constituency. The thing to do then is look at every Republican that pushed this through, and get rid of them if possible (chances are, they are closet communists that get rigged in as pinch hitters when needed, while donning a cloak of credibility most of the time) so it might not be possible to vote them out.
We now get a PERFECT snapshot of the deep state, and it consists of all Dems and Repubs who voted in favor.
Agreed. Thoughtful, constructive criticism is one thing, but Coulter is off the rails.
Comforting if it pans out this way
The funding bill is only good until September, if I recall correctly.
No. That’s not how it works.
The President can veto a bill even if it is passed unanimously by Congress. Congress can THEN override it by having ANOTHER vote that must be 2/3rds of both the House and Senate.
There is no such thing as a “veto-proof” bill. That Congress has to do a specially override vote to override the veto. Trump could have vetoed this and put the blame squarely on the Republican party that is betraying him and the people.
“The bipartisan spending package Trump will[did]sign, as Breitbart News has reported, greatly expands the Catch and Release of border crossers and illegal aliens, codifying into law that border crossers be bused into the interior of the U.S. where they are released with the promise that they are monitored.”
Im sure when I read the bill much of it I wont like. DJT cant write the bill. He is opposed on all sides, the Rino never Trumpers being the worst. Trump is all we have, our last best hope to save America. I put my faith in he is doing everything possible to defend the border.
“Trump was FORCED to sign it, because he can only veto a bill that does not get 2/3 majority”
This does not sound right. I think it’s wishful thinking. If it was then why the drama. Will he or won’t he? If his hands were already tied it would have been out there. I think he could vetoed it and made them override. No I am afraid he signed this treasonous POS bill and did not have to.
If so, the congress.gov site has not been updated yet. That is unusual.
