Rahm Emanuel says Democrats' hard left turn could re-elect Trump
Fox News ^ | 12 March 2019 | Howard Kurtz

Rahm is right.

The Democrats are in a leftward lurch that could ruin their chances of retaking the White House.

Rahm Emanuel, now stepping down after two terms as mayor of Chicago, knows something about winning elections. He was a key White House operative for Bill Clinton and chief of staff for Barack Obama.

It was Rahm, as chairman of the Democratic campaign committee, who engineered the party's takeover of the House in 2006 — and is known for his hardball brand of politics, with all the subtlety of his frequent F-bombs.

If Mayor Emanuel believes the Democrats are in danger of self-destructing, as he argues in a piece for the Atlantic, his party might want to pay attention.

I've been arguing that the Democrats, who regained control of the House in November mainly on the strength of more moderate candidates, are increasingly being defined by their most extreme members.

Just look at the last few weeks, and the stances embraced by some of its presidential contenders and younger members: Slavery reparations. Green New Deal. Medicare for All. Free college tuition. A 70 percent tax rate on income over $10 million. Break up Amazon, Facebook and Google.

Is that how they win back Trump Democrats in Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin?

Add to that various self-inflicted wounds, such as delaying and then watering down a resolution to denounce Rep. Ilhan Omar after her latest anti-Semitic comments, and you've got a party with a problem. (President Trump went way overboard in saying the Democrats have become "an anti-Jewish party" and telling donors that "the Democrats hate Jewish people," given that perhaps three-quarters of Jews vote Democratic. But he was seizing on an opening.)

Bwaahaha. They’ve BEEN far Left for over half a century.

They aligned with NOW, Black Panthers, Yippies, Weather Underground, Marxist professors, Hollywood Reds, and homofascists.

They want illegal aliens to be permitted to vote and mothers are able to kill their children outside the womb.

Do not interfere, if the enemy is in self destruct mode. There’s an old saying along those lines, sorry i don’t know the exact quote, but that’s the gist of it. The Democrats are alienating more moderate or swing voters.

I think the Democrats should ignore this.

Keep going with AOC and the muzzie terrorist from Minnesota.

The Dems are in a real mess, even silly gilly Kristen Gillibrand is toast now that this avowed protector of women knowingly kept on staff a frequent woman harasser.

Rahm doesn’t disagree with the leftward lurch. It’s merely a disagreement over whether the indoctrinated compose a majority of the electorate. This is not a change in the Democrat party, it’s simply taking off the mask.

The MSM will still make lots of money from political advertisements. It will be a big payday for them.

Rahm is right. But, they can't hep themselves.

One thing we have got going for us is the fact that with social media and the left's need to out-Marxist the next Marxist, everyone running for office will not be able to hide their true motives anymore.

In days gone by a candidate could customize each speech they made to each different group. We used to have to rely on video tape from a news room and hold our breath until they showed it to us on the evening news. As a consequence, we missed all the other speeches the candidate made. A lib could pretend to be one thing during the campaign and then turn around and say something completely different at the next stop.

Those days are long gone.

The left can't just cut their hair, put on a suit and pretend to be a conservative to get the votes and then do a left turn once in office.

AOC is the best example of what I mean. She has got the others in her party flustered, not because of what she says but because of the fact that she is supposed to hide at least some of it.

With our lightening fast communication there is no cover. A candidate and their motives are now on full display.

This is a good thing, and it will get Donald Trump elected to a second term.

Doesn't matter. The Democrats can't win if they alienate the Bernie/AOC leftists, and those leftists appear no longer willing to take a back seat to their less overtly-leftist brethren.

AOC and her supporters believe they're winning. They won't take a back seat to anyone, even for the sake of party unity.

Voters don’t think of Congress members when voting for President. They think of the two candidates, and most voters choose the one they think is nicest, most caring, and generous.

We are doomed. It’s over.

The problem is that voter fraud (Illegals voting for instance) could outweigh the negative effects of the far far left extremists who are taking over the Dem “party”.

Bill Clinton knew how to get elected. He had advisors who focused on a winning campaign. I’ve never paid much attention to Rahm, but I suspect he knows something about how to win an election.

The flip side is Hillary. She can’t campaign. She doesn’t know how to win. She’s not focused on that. She just wants the power. That’s all she thinks about. The Democrat Party is now run by people more like Hillary and less like Bill. They live their lives like rulers and they insist that everyone do their bidding — but most of them forget that you need that winning campaign before you get to rule.

Rahm Emmanuel should realize that today’s Democrat Party doesn’t care what a Jewish man has to say. He is not welcome with them anymore.
