Unlike the US—with its 2nd Amendment—NZ’s gov can allow or “disallow” a right. Which means they’ll make ordinary, law-abiding citizens turn in their weapons, whilst the criminals of course won’t. Gun violence get’s worse.

Without a valid and current firearms license, you cannot legally purchase any firearm other than a pellet gun anywhere in New Zealand.

The process for obtaining a basic firearms license is long, complicated and expensive. In other words, designed to weed out a broad portion of the population that the law deems unsuitable to possess a firearm.

Yet ironically you see some youtube videos where the cat tortures the dog and the dog does nothing or the cat just lays on top of the dog and flops there. Sometimes they play like buddies :)
