Notre Dame Priest Says All Precious Artefacts And Artwork Have Been Saved
LAD BIBLE ^ | APRIL 15, 2019 | Jake Massey

A Notre Dame cathedral priest has claimed that all precious artefacts and artwork have been saved from the historic building.

In a tweet, French journalist Nicolas Delesalle cited Père Frédéric, writing: "Good news: all the works of art were saved. The treasure of the Cathedral is intact, the Crown of thorns, the Holy sacraments."

The fire, which has destroyed destroyed large sections of the Notre Dame cathedral in Paris, has spread to one of the cathedral's landmark rectangular towers, according to Bloomberg.

The historic building's spire and roof have already collapsed. No casualties have been reported as of yet.

The cause of the fire is not yet known, however, officials have indicated it could be linked to current renovation work.

The French President, Emmanuel Macron, has cancelled a planned public address and has arrived at the scene.

Large plumes of smoke are still billowing from the Gothic building, despite firefighters' best efforts to tackle the blaze over the past few hours.

What bravery from those who stayed and saved all that.

That is a blessing. You can re-build a great cathedral - though it will never represent the same historic accomplishment; but you can’t re-create the artworks.

Looks like the Frenchies were well-prepped for such a scenario. While everyone yelled at them for not putting out the first fast enough, they had busy little bees moving stuff out the back. Thank you Lord!

Yeah but the building itself was a work of art.

Even if it was an act of terror, Christians should remember that not one life was taken, and it was just a building. We should react like Whoville did on the morning of Christmas - by singing praises to God the Most High, who created the heavens and the earth and all of us on it.

I have been chasing this all down.
There is more to this building than is common.
The ‘ceiling’ of the church is stone, with a roof of wood.
The wood burned above and only fell inside at one, albeit large hole.
It is an expensive mess, and some stuff was destroyed...but the really cool stuff is just fine.
I could be wrong, there are many conflicting reports.
Read today 13,000 oak trees were cut to build this church.
I got to see it in 89...when I did not appreciate such things.

Some were removed 4 days ago. I saw one report where fire trucks didn’t arrive for 2 hours. Seriously? I agree, something is wrong.

You figure blazing, 900 year old massive beams, crashing into the interior of the church. Followed up by molten lead and copper from what was the roof? And yet everything is just peachy? Not buying it.

It’s probably one of the most storied and documented buildings in the world. It can be re-created; but it will be tooled with modern implements, and without the same heart and soul that generations put into building the original. The soul will be nothing like the original - unless, over time, it is imbued with the spirit of a great regeneration of faith, in France as well as the wider world.

I have no problem with rebuilding, if people want to do it. But it’s an incredibly tragic loss.

(I like the way you think.)

I was watching drama queen Shepherd Smith on early coverage. “And there is Notre Dame, burning to the ground, totally destroyed.”

Then he cut off someone talking about terrorism-arson.
“We can only comment on what we know.”

. We should react like Whoville did on the morning of Christmas - by singing praises to God the Most High, who created the heavens and the earth and all of us on it.

First of all, The Who's were singing the praise of Fahoo Fores Dahoo Dores, whatever god that is. And secondly, I just remember the Grinch hating Christmas and repenting when his cardiovascular condition improved, although and enlarged heart normally kills people. But he did, not declare jihad and , burn their churches down and killing all Fahoo Fores Dahoo Dores believers.

Decision time. Do you:

a) Put your fire crews on a fire where odds are AGAINST containment?, or

b) Put your fire crews in a human chain to take as many relics to safety as possible?

Looks like they chose b).

Yes, those involved seem to have done a good job. Thank God for that and that no one died.

Your points are well taken and correct. All things considered, they did well and the fire was not as destructive as first thought.

France has exceptional masters of their craft in stonemasonery and wooden structures. They are constantly renovating and repairing classic structures throughout France, often at great expense. Happily they have the people who know how to replicate the job as it was done 800 years ago. Never fear, Notre Dame will be rebuilt. Perhaps the precious relics will be sent back to the Sainte Chapelle where they were before being sent to Notre Dame.
It is a breathtaking experience to stand in the Sainte-Chapelle in the morning when the sunlight streams through the magnificent stained glass windows. Ethereal!

I think the French chose A and B. The Pompiers took care of the fires while the priests and others evacuated the treasures of Notre Dame.
