Puttie has been distractively whining about Trump withdrawing from the INF Agreement, while he's been tinkering in his garage...

Don’t you think that we (the US) also tinker in our garage ?

What a waste of money, and less people to pay for it. http://windowoneurasia2.blogspot.com/2019/04/pensioners-largest-problem-for-state.html

Just another Armata:

Russia’s new high-tech battle tank has ground to a halt during a rehearsal for 9 May Victory parade in Moscow, prompting speculation of a breakdown.

One of T-14 Armata tanks suddenly stopped on Red Square, and the driver raised a red flag - apparently to signal that he had problems.

A tow vehicle was brought in, but the tank later managed to drive on.

The parade announcer said the stoppage had been planned to show how to “evacuate weaponry”.

This prompted laughter from the crowds who gathered to watch the rehearsal in the Russian capital, Reuters reports.

Higher yield has an exponentially diminishing return.

Far better to have ten one megaton nukes than one ten.

The Russians tested a 50 megaton bomb in 1961.

They dropped it from 34,000 feet, over a cluster of Russian islands, north of the Arctic Circle.

It descended for three minutes with a parachute, then detonated at 12,500 feet.

The thermal pulse burned off a coat of protective white paint on the bomber and the chase plane, which were 30 miles away and 4 miles above the explosion.

Andrei Sakharov helped design the bomb. Soon after the test, he resigned from weapons research and became a human rights activist.

"Satan 2 Missile"

OK, I know we're talking nuclear weapons here but what kind of idiot names them after the Prince of Darkness? I mean really, it kind of broadcasts your frame of mind right off the bat. And what happened to the Satan 1 Missile? What? It wasn't EVIL enough for them or something? Man! You just can't make this stuff up.

That is more than 400 times as strong as either bomb the US dropped on Japan in the final days of World War Two. This means they are capable of pulverising an area the size of England and Wales or Texas

The usual wonky "journalists" math. Just because the bomb is 400 times more powerful doesn't mean you can also scale up the destructive area by a factor of 400...

More “fake news” proof!

8 megatons can't even come close to doing that. Maybe these tabloid Brits should open a science book sometime.

... Satan-2 missile has ‘completed’ final tests...

They did what Ocasio-Cortez's I.Q. tests did - came back negative.

Not to play down the punch of these bigger bombs, but no, nothing has been built that can pulverize all of Texas, not even close. The difference actually is more like Central Houston [5 mile radius] versus Houston metro [25 mile radius], but nothing close to all of Texas.

Texas is a lot bigger than England and Wales, which can easily fit into Oregon with room to spare.

It ain’t the size of the missile but the megatons in the warhead.
