I wonder how long it will be before the Democrats surrender our sovereignty to Mexico?

Punitive expedition needed. Push everyone in Mexico back from the border at least 10 miles. Shoot to kill all who stay.

For what it’s worth, I did a google map view of the border area of Clint, Texas where the story says this happened. I don’t know how authoritative Google Maps is, but it shows places where the actual border does not run down the middle of the Rio Grande, but some yards north of the river. This could be due to the fact that rivers do sometimes change their courses over the years and it has been agreed that the border will not change when this happens. Or it could be that Google maps is wrong. But it may not be as clear cut as we might think.

Regardless of their motivation, the Mexicans were wrong. Regardless of the numbers, the Americans were wrong to surrender. American soldiers should not hand over their weapons - they should if necessary hold the enemy off and call in an airstrike on any direct threat (okay, any threat other than Hillary, Pelosi, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, etc.).

Two whole cavalry companies? I think that the headline writer meant troopers, rather than troops.

Time to pull the army out and send in the Marines.

Given that interaction with armed cartel members, even armed cartel members also wearing the uniforms of the Mexican military is possible our soldiers should be traveling in groups large enough, and with enough arms, that anyone approaching them would not be in a position of superior firepower. If that means having an Apache gunship hovering over them so be it.

Meanwhile we've got the FBI trying to disarm civilians in the area and prevent them from stopping illegal entrants.

Time for Trump to get serious about border security.

Kinda reminds you of the Chinese Empire in its decadent period, when the Chinese couldn’t even prevent the British from selling opium to their population or nations as small as Portugal from ripping off chunks of Chinese territory and establishing their own law there.

If Trump was serious about security he would have 15,000 fully armed troops on the border with orders to shoot if threatened. Kill any armed illegals crossing the border with one warning shot first and then hell fire.

Reaming only allowed in ROE were clear.

If the ROE weren’t/aren’t clear, the blame lies higher up the chain of command.

Part of the problem is determining exactly where the border is.
Some places it’s well defined and others it isn’t. That’s why
a wall, fence, or some other defining line is needed.

It’s kinda like you own some property without a fence, etc.
People can come on it intentionally or not.

The Treaty of 1884 explicitly accepted the internationally established doctrine that the line of a river-defined border shall follow the changing path of the boundary river only in response to alluvial deposition, but that avulsion shall not affect the borderline.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chamizal_dispute

There are two or three locations on the Rio Grande where this is an issue.

Clint Texas is NOT one of them.

If Mexican troops are on the north side of the border with weapons, they should be challenged and ordered back across the river.

That area is VERY well defined as to the river, the adjacent strips of land on both sides of the river between the two levees which in that area are about 100 to 150 yards apart.

In that area there could not have been a "mistake" as to the boundary.

I would suggest parking 2 - 3 Humvee with .50 BMG with thermal sights in that general area to insure there are no more "mistakes."

.
