Kellyanne to Dems: ‘Are you going to talk about impeachment or infrastructure?’
Fox News ^ | Apr. 24, 2019 | Talia Kaplan

Counselor to President Trump Kellyanne Conway criticized House Democrats' latest impeachment push, blasted Hillary Clinton for her recent Trump comments and weighed in on former Vice President Joe Biden’s expected announcement that he's running for president.

Conway spoke on "America's Newsroom" Wednesday shortly before President Trump and first lady Melania Trump headed to Atlanta to continue their efforts to combat the nation's opioid crisis. Both headlined the 2019 Rx Drug Abuse & Heroin Summit on Wednesday.

Responding to congressional Democrats issuing subpoenas for administration officials, Conway said the president made it “very clear that there’s really no reason to comply with all these requests when we have the Mueller investigation.”

Excellent point. Do the Dems want to continue to put politics ahead of the needs of the people, such as infrastructure?

They will care about infrastructure when Trump is impeached. Because Pence will bow down to their every whim...

Infrastructure actually shouldn’t be a priority. Of the type that would get through Congress it would be no more than the budget smashing stimulus passed in the Obama admin.

Pelosi and Cummings,Nadler and schiff are cowards. The Republicans on these committees should walk out. Just get up and leave. Don’t come back until Schiff is no longer the ranking member.Man the fu** up.

She was just making a point that Dems should focus on the needs of the country, not on petty attacks.

She was using infrastructure as an example.

Actually there is a fair amount of talk about making infrastructure the next priority, because pork barrel spending is about the only thing a majority of Congress can agree on...

Democrats might not even get the 2/3 they need in the House ...

a one-party political persecution won’t look good for them

“a one-party political persecution won’t look good for them”

And that is exactly what Team Trump is counting on.

Oh there will still be a few crossover RINOS, since they are essentially Democrats anyway, but for all those Democrats who were elected in 2018 from districts that were won in 2012 by Romney and in 2016 by Trump, they place themselves in great peril should they vote for impeachment, so here won’t be a solid Democrat caucus vote bloc.

Why not? The Republicans do.

Exactly. The President needs to double down on pushing for legislation that he can sign and single out vulnerable democrats because of all the impeachment talk by the radicals.

Republicans flipping the House in 2020 and retaining the Senate would be sweet.

impeachment requires 2/3 of the house
conviction requires 2/3 of the senate

It only requires a majority vote in the House, just like any other legislation. It takes two-thirds vote in the Senate to convict.

“2/3 they need in the House”

A simple majority of those present and voting in the House is required for each article for the resolution as a whole to pass.

Infrastructure actually shouldn’t be a priority.

Trump campaigned heavily on it. If McConnell would get on board, the Senate would amend the House version into sanity, and dare them not to approve it.

At very least something should be done about the major airports. (NYC, esp.)

Maybe everyone should start ignoring the Democrats and start leaning hard on the Republicans and RNC to support the President instead of always standing by and doing nothing.

The Democrats will do what they will do. They are powerless if Republicans behave like they should.

Always shifting the focus on the Democrats is tantamount to giving the Republicans a pass. Most everyone seems to follow the line - talk radio, fox/fbn, and conservative pundits.
