Progressives are taking shots at Joe Biden, seeking to blunt the former vice president’s rise in polls by arguing he is too conservative to be the party's presidential nominee.
The criticism has come from rivals to Biden on the campaign trail as well as liberal groups seeking to put a dent into his poll numbers.
They are casting Biden as an establishment figure out of touch with the grass roots of his party, highlighting his work on a Clinton-era crime bill and the Iraq War, among other issues.
The criticism suggests some angst on the part of progressives, who fear Biden might beat out candidates such as Sens. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) and Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), who have more liberal voting records than the former vice president.
The latest Hill-HarrisX poll released on Monday found Biden winning 46 percent support and holding a 32-point lead nationally over Sanders, who won 14 percent.
Progressives also say they are worried that Biden will lose to Trump, even as the former vice president makes electability the centerpiece of his campaign.
They argue a dyed-in-the-wool progressive has the best chance of energizing voters against Trump, and that Biden could fall to the wayside just as Hillary Clinton did in 2016.

As I’ve posted before... the GOP needs to grow a pair and simply air a minute long ad of photos of Joe Biden sniffing women’s hair and groping uncomfortable little girls. The leftist media would HAVE to address this “outrage” (which they’d consider to be the ad, not the groping, of course) and, in doing so, would no longer be able to cover up the issue.
Let the left counter THAT.

The term is not liberal, it’s leftist, also it’s not progressive, it’s regressive. Whenever the media is honest with the terms we’ll see fewer people suckered into voting for the Democrat do nothing politicians.

The other candidates are merely props for groping Joe until they attack him where he is vulnerable, gropism and Ukrainian/Chinese corruption.
This only helps creepy Joe. He wants the “voice of reason” tag. It’s BS of course he is leftist a-hole like just the rest of em. But he is at least smart enough to know you still have to hide it for the general, at least until they get enough illegals in to flip Texas or Florida.

Vintage Biden clip resurfaces showing him falsely claiming he was in ‘top half of my class’ in law school
A 1987 clip of Joe Biden has resurfaced, showing him exaggerating his academic record, boasting that he graduated “in the top half of my class” – before he later admitted that he graduated 76th in a class of 85.
The former vice president, who’s currently the leading 2020 presidential candidate, was running back then for the Democratic Party’s nomination for president when he got combative and made the blunder amid questioning by a reporter about his academic credentials at the Syracuse University College of Law.
“I think I have a much higher I.Q. than you do I suspect. I went to law school on a full academic scholarship, the only one in my class to have a full academic scholarship,” he told the reporter during a campaign stop in Claremont, New Hampshire.
“In the first year of the law school, I decided I didn’t want to be in law school and ended up in the bottom two-thirds of my class,” he continued. “And then I decided to stay, went back to law school, and in fact ended up in the top half of my class.”
He added that he was an “outstanding student in the political science department” and “graduated with three degrees from college.”
Shortly after making the claims, Biden had to come out with a confession that he lied about his academic record and actually graduated 76th in a class of 85.
“I did not graduate in the top half of my class at law school and my recollection of this was inaccurate,” he told the New York Times in a statement.
“I graduated from the University of Delaware with a double major in history and political science. My reference to degrees at the Claremont event was intended to refer to these majors – I said ‘three’ and should have said ‘two,’” he added, though the newspaper points out that Biden actually received a single B.A. degree in history and political science.
During an interview with the Times, he also didn’t dispute the reports that he actually went on the law school “on half scholarship based on financial need” rather than full scholarship as he claimed.
“My recollection is – and I’d have to confirm this – but I don’t recall paying any money to go to law school,” he said.
Biden’s 1988 run for Democratic nomination for president ended shortly after the controversy, which also included accusations of plagiarism in his academic work and campaign speeches.

Exactly. I never buy into the leftists’ vocabulary, be it “progressive”, “liberal”, “communities at risk”, “underserved groups”, “gays”, “food insecurity”, “diversity”, “gender fluidity”, or any of their other garbage newspeak propaganda.
After Biden’s Margaret Thatcher gaffe-—he apologized and said he meant to say Anthony Eden called him.
But his handlers are worried he’ll re-gaffe-——so they’re keeping Joe away from reporters.
One reporter did manage to get through and asked Joe how many campaign stops he planned.
