Ever heard of the phrase gun dont kill people, people kill people? Apparently, the new version of The Twilight Zone doesnt believe the maxim is true. The CBS All-Access reboot introduces the crazy idea that guns can shoot themselves, and that we somehow value them more than people.
The May 23 episode The Blue Scorpion follows anthropology professor Jeff Storck (Chris ODowd) discovering his father has seemingly committed suicide by shooting himself. This came as a shock since Jeff described his father as a hippie who hated guns and wouldnt own one. Soon enough, though, Jeff gains possession of the pistol that killed his father, which bears a blue scorpion symbol.
After finding a bullet that mysteriously has his name in the casing, Jeff quickly aimed to sell the gun. However, he changed his mind after firing the gun for the first time in a gun range. After that, he became obsessed with the weapon to the point of sleeping with it beside him, almost like a bad parody of an NRA member.
It became so bad that hes tempted to shoot his ex-wifes new lover before being interrupted by an attacker. Thats when the episode took a strange turn.
Apparently, the gun shot the attacker all by itself. And this was still somehow supposed to reflect modern society.
After this encounter, Jeff decided to get rid of the guns influence by throwing it in the river. Unfortunately, two boys later discovering the weapon while fishing, leading to the Narrators (Jordan Peele) final moralizing speech:

I stopped watching TV and movies about 20 years ago. I couldn’t bear the propaganda.
Hysteria.
And yet for decades the denied Communist infiltration in the State Department, FBI, CIA, White House, academia, media, etc etc
It’s frustrating that the powers that be in Hollywood, feel the need to inject liberal political views into programming.
Can’t they just produce entertainment, without the political statement being in there?
Roger that.
These sorts of things happen all the time in the Twilight Zone. Talking dolls and electric shavers have also taken on sentience, self-propulsion and a murderous instinct.
True, Rod Serling himself was a lefty in terms of 1959, but he would have absolutely no use whatsoever for the shut down of free speech that is taking place today.
WTH? You a McCarthyist or something? LOL!
The original Twilight Zone, great as it was had some real preachy episodes from angry SJW Rod Serling.
A five minute version of President Trump’s favorite “Twilight Zone” episode, “A Nice Place to Visit”

I watched most of the CBS Twilight Zone or The Progressive Zone episodes this season. The Wunderkid episode was anti-Trump, then the Black Lives Matter - killer policeman episode, two weeks ago the #meetoo episode, then the immigrant episode last week, now last nights anti-NRA.
Pretzel logic. It is not guns over lives it is that guns do in fact save, serve, and protect lives. But rabid liberals do not see it that way because they are afraid of what they would do if they had a gun in their hand. They are projecting and they don’t want guns around because they, themselves would abuse the rights and the privilege of having a gun and innocent people would die because they had a gun.
Yep I didn’t like the new TZ full of propaganda. Saw two episodes, if I want to watch TZ I will watch the old shows.
See, this could have been a creepy glimpse at the "smart gun" concept, but the screenplay writers have to please their leftist masters. Result: lame story.
We have not watched TV since 2002. Do not miss anything about it.
Guns actually SAVE lives.
Someone with a gun is able to defend himself/herself against a criminal murderer, save their own and their family’s life.
We simply cut the cord and stopped watching all this crap-—every single show has some sort of left wing nonsense being pushed down our throats with the exception of “Blue Bloods” and “Last man standing”. I have so much free time on my hand it’s awesome!! Plus saving $2400 per year.,...
Yes, but the original Twilight Zone was a riff on the existential darknesses of the human condition.
Jordan Peeles version tries to give tendentious SWJ themes that same moral weight.
Sounds like the old episode featuring a slot machine. Somehow I’m not troubled by it.
