Isn’t that dandy? Give the Saudis more weapons so they can continue blowing up children in Yemen. Our allies who gave us the 9/11 terrorists and continue to spread Islam all over the world.

No real surprise here. Imagine the Iranians mounting a pincer attack from Yemen and Iranian Khuzestan through the Gulf kingdoms’ oilfields, thereby gaining control of 40% of the world’s oil production. Texas would do well, but the rest of the country would have to deal with gas prices at $6 a gallon. Because even if we did not import 40% of our oil needs (produce 12m bpd, consume 20m), refineries pay whatever the world oil price happens to be, and that cost gets passed down to people who buy gasoline here.

I am VERY concerned ... Obammy and Bush armed the Saudi dictatorship TO THE TEETH.. and they’re extremely anti-American, they send apparently hundreds of millions of our dollars back into USA to build and operate anti-American preaching mosques and training schools, camps.....
since the Saudi dictator family is very much in bed with the Wahabi one of the most extreme aggressive sects of Islam...

Seems to me they should have plenty of arms already to contain or repel the crazy Iranian Shiites....

Two worse enemies could not be found anywhere in the world...
arming one (even “against the other”) does still pile up even more deadly weapons in enemy hands, regardless.

just saying...we should arm ourselves (and repatriate all of the enemy Islamics that have already gotten into USA)

There is no threat to the United States from Iran. That’s a stupid joke.

And billions more in weapons to the Saudi Barbarians is a disgrace.

I don’t know why he would go this route other than to piss off Congress. To date, no sale has been successfully blocked by Congress, only partially. For Congress to disapprove, it has to pass a Joint Resolution and then override a Presidential veto. Not likely to happen. The “partial” block was when the Reagan administration wanted to sell EWACS, Sidewinder missiles, and Stinger missles to the Saudis. Reagan compromised and did not sell the Stingers.

Look for a game-changer in Yemen. The Houthis might just be driven back into the mountains, if not tactically obliterated on the battlefield.

You either want the Saudis to win, or by losing, a default victory to the Houthis’ master, Iran. Then there would go the Arabian Sea, Red Sea, and the Suez Canal. (I don’t have a map in front of me so I may have the wrong name for the right place between Somalia/Puntland and Yemen.

Remember Al Shabaab is still running pirate attacks on boats there, and could close the Straits/Seas in conjunction with the Houthis in Yemen.

Almost seems like a shadow government decision but I don’t know, this is doing an end run around congress. I hope Trump and Obama before him, have privy to information that makes this decision make sense.

It’s kind of like when Libya got bombed, Obama didn’t really have his heart in that decision. They just decided to do it like someone is pulling the strings.

I’m no Obama fan but I’m also not a wild eyed conspiracy theorist.
