China threatens corporate hit list on eve of new US tariffs

China on Friday threatened to unveil an unprecedented hit list of "unreliable" foreign firms, groups and individuals who harm the interests of Chinese companies as a slate of retaliatory tariffs on imported U.S. goods was set to kick in at midnight.

The commerce ministry did not single out any country or company, but the threat could further heighten tensions after Washington this month put Huawei on a blacklist that effectively blocks U.S. firms from doing business with the Chinese telecoms equipment giant.

Beijing's "unreliable entities list" would apply to those who violate market rules and the spirit of contracts, block supplies to Chinese companies for non-commercial reasons, "seriously damage the legitimate rights and interests" of Chinese companies and harm China's national security, the ministry said.

A deluge of sharply worded commentaries, criticism and warnings from China in the last two weeks has intensified a battle of words with the United States that could complicate the run-up to any meeting between their respective leaders next month

Raise the triffs to 50%. If Xi and the government survive the civil unrest, then we can talk to them.

lol

The problem is quite a few Americans aren’t known for their tolerance of long term pain.

I’m one of them lol

But I’ll take the stock market hit and higher prices for as long as needed to win this war.

Or else nothing will matter anyway.

China is becoming the best example of the old adage, “cut off your nose to spite your face”, I’ve ever seen.

They will survive but the unrestees will not. China’s PLA has no problem with murdering tens of thousands or millions, if it comes to that. See Tiananmen Square ...

Raise it to 100%.

I hate China and everything they stand for; this merely is a wake up call to me and millions of others how bad China truly is. Life is BETTER without Chinese crap and our subsidizing of our enemy.

The Chinese know how to “bully” others.

That’s it!

If their target refuses to be “bullied”, China is helpless.

Agreements with China are good until you leave the room. Trump knows this better than anyone. I only support tariffs against our enemies.

Nah...they have hundreds and hundreds of buyers and managers who are currently transferring supply sourcing from China to domestic producers or non-Chinese producers.

Interesting. About the only thing I buy from Wal-Mart anymore is the CCI 22LR ammo.

They’ve cut personnel.
They’ve switched from many vendors to the “Great Value” competitors.
Yesterday, they had absolutely zero AAA batteries in our local store.
They haven’t stocked red leaf lettuce in weeks.
Stock variety seems to have shrunk across the board.

We purchase less and less there. Local options are limited to True Value, Tractor Supply, an expensive regional grocery chain and an even more expensive (and snotty) organic co-op. We now regularly have a longer list when we go 50 miles for business purposes and also shop.

Hey, have our stuff made in India, Vietnam or a lot of other places that are friendly and don’t use slave labor. The Chinese still do, although not technically. However, their labor is treated terribly and paid almost nothing, but because the Chinese companies get folks from the country whose families have less than nothing, that’s how they get away with it.

We could even offer to have our stuff made in Mexico in exchange for border enforcement - thus making AMLO an offer he couldn’t refuse. This is not only because of US pressure, but because Mexicans are sick and tired of having hundreds of thousands of “refugees,” many of whom are not even from Latin America, tramping through their towns. These people were set into motion by Cuba and Venezuela, and the ordinary Mexican on the ground doesn’t like it. So AMLO better think twice or even thrice about threatening us, and so should the Chinese.

They’re clearly getting worried. Good. They should be.

We can always jack up the tariffs even higher and we can apply them to a wider swath of their exports to us. There’s nothing they can do in return.

Just days away, June 4th will be the 30th Anniversary of the Tiananmen Square Massacre of 1989. With sharp trade disputes between the US and China, this year promises sharper public interest in the incident. In preparation for the Anniversary, Twitter has shut down 32,000 accounts critical of the Chinese Communist Party, accounts originating both in and outside China. Facebook is also said to have taken similar pre-June 4th action against 40,000 accounts. No explanation has been given. Most accounts of the incident acknowledge hundreds of deaths in Tiananmen Square, but experts claim the actual figure runs into thousands, some even claim over 10,000. At the height of the protests as many as one million citizens crowded the square and protesting spread to hundreds of cities. The PLA used 300,000 troops to put down the uprising.

The US media companies and executives who ordered the account purges are also in charge of the social media accounts of the readers of FreeRepublic in the USA and abroad.

Long time advocate of intellectual freedom, Princeton University and the US’s largest public pension plan are funding perfection of facial recognition in China, an important tool of political conformity by the Chinese authorities.

Spooling down the long Twitter thread shows a long but partial list of the accounts suddenly shut down.

If Silicon Valley is amenable to repression by Chinese dictators half a world away, why would they not be to that by American ones here at home..? ---

.

But then the tanks arrive...

.

.

And then the violent government response begins...

.

.

So the question:

.

THIS was the Google art submission on the 25th Anniversary.

Will be see something similar on Tuesday..?

My guess is NO.

Partner, we whole heartily agree that the Chicoms will not kill their own people this time around.

President Trump should not sign on like past presidents on China trade period. The U.S. companies have sold out America, period.

The Clintoons have sold out America to gain all of those $$$$ in their bank account. The Clintoons are a piece of work aren't they.
