Are Polls The Biggest Joke In Politics?
Townhall.com ^ | June 19, 2019 | Timothy Meads

President Donald J. Trump shocked many with his 2016 victory, particularly those who believed the polls that the mainstream media continuously pushed as proof there was simply no way that the real estate mogul could knock off the self-appointed heir-apparent Hillary Clinton for the presidency. However, he did win and did so in a dominating fashion. The polls were wrong in large part, Trump's 2020 campaign manager Brad Parscale argues, because the polling methodology is outdated and cannot capture the diversity of opinions through the American electorate.

"The country is too complex now just to call a couple of hundred people and ask them what they think. There are so many ways, and different people that are gonna show up to vote now," Pascale told CNS News Washington Chief Correspondent Major Garrett in an exclusive interview. "The way turnout now works, the abilities that we have to turn out voters – the polling can't understand that. And that's why it was so wrong in 2016. It was 100% wrong. Nobody got it right. Not one public poll."

Recently, several polls show that President Trump would lose to numerous Democratic candidates if held today.  "None of these polls mean anything," Parscale rebutted. "It's the biggest joke in politics. It's the fakest thing. It's the fakest thing."

Internal campaign polls as well showed that the president was losing to current 2020 Democratic primary candidates, but campaign spokespeople clarified these were "worst case scenario" polls and also outdated.  Spokeswoman Kayleigh McEnany told "Fox & Friends" that "those numbers were accurate," but "they were from three months ago, they were pre-Mueller report, they were the worst-case scenario and the most unfavorable turnout model."

"All news about the president's polling is completely false," Parscale said in a separate interview. "The president's new polling is extraordinary and his numbers have never been better."

Whatever the current polling, President Trump surely does not seem to be lacking enthusiasm from his base. As Townhall covered earlier, the incumbent president raised an astounding $24.8 million yesterday and attracted more than 100,000 supporters to his Orlando re-election rally.

Its interesting to go back and watch election night 2016 , and see the reactions of those media types, as they were clearly shocked at the results.

Yes, they are a big joke... most especially Fox News polls. Worse is their pathetic news-whores waving these polls around in public. Does any objective thinking person in his right mind think that Biden would win if the election were held today?

Then the vapid, lying manipulators sit around in meetings wondering why they're going out of business.

To the Fox fraud metropoloids that lurk here, this isn't hard - YOU'RE GOING OUT OF BUSINESS BECAUSE YOU SUCK AND YOU LIE.

THink about it. You have a name that somehow implies trust - let’s say it’s “Encyclopedia Brittanica” for example. Whatever you say, a lot of people will accept without question and will forward and share with their friends.

That’s a pretty powerful tool! And like all tools, can be used for good or for evil.

In the past, polling companies enjoyed this kind of name-trust and many still do. And they are businesses that need customers to pay them cash money to conducts polls. Now that sets the stage to tilt them to the evil side.

Instead of relying on scientific and statistical principles, it’s so easy to just put a hand on the scale, so to speak. And it’s so easy to justify dishonesty when you are convinced it’s for a good cause, “the greater good”.

So polls which were once intended to access voter sentiment have become tools for manipulating it. Polling companies can say whatever they want to and a certain number of people will beleive it and pass along the information without question. It’s not longer about assessing public opinion - it’s about shaping it through propaganda.

And it’s dirt cheap. Think of how much it costs to have have a bunch of people doing fake-based polls vs. having to buy time on TV or Facebook or in the print media.

The corruption of the polling industry was probably inevitable, it’s just too much of a low-hanging fruit. The inability to see it for what it is is the problem.

I believe polls could be accurate if they were done in an honest fashion. However polls have become jokes because those running polls are not honest. They stopped trying to discover what Americans think to trying influence the way Americans think.

Pollsters have become the used car salesmen of politics. Willing to do what ever it takes to “sell” their candidate.

I wonder if a pollster could use crowd turn out at campaign rallies as a measure other than robo calls.

My recent survey indicates that 87.5% of poll results are not believable at all.

Fraud is indeed a threat. And polls are a huge part of the fraud.

Social media and the internet are other threats to democracy. Google for instance, allowed Hillary to be a 10 point favorite in 2016. How?

By manipulating search results in her favor and over posting anti Trump results.

Then of course there’s the media. I cannot say online what I think the press deserves for their anti-American antics in destroying democracy.

Yet in spite of all this rigging and fraudulent activity - Trump still won.

Fox ratings don’t exist until after 5pm. It crushes the competition in prime time.

The data used to conduct surveys by most pollsters is from the 60 and 70’s. It’s outdated. Fake news. Fake polls. American’s have soured on the corporate media and their obvious bias.

Viewership is shrinking and online news consumption is way way up.

Polls are nothing more than media lies. And for the media to be shocked at their own lies was refreshing.

Polls this early are completely useless. Closer to election day they are better.

In 2016 the finals polls had an average lead for Clinton of 3.2%, the election had a Clinton lead of 2.1%

Well the fact is that the only poll that counts is the one on election day, and not the ones that are 17 month prior to election day. But tell that to the media

Fraud is the only threat to Trump’s re-election

Big Fraud is done by democrats in the black community by voting the people who don't show up to vote...

If the FBI wants to stop voter fraud they need to seed the rolls with fake names, then when those names are 'voted' sweep in and arrest the crooks.
