President Donald Trump said Saturday the United States would impose “major additional sanctions” against Iran on Monday, after calling off military strikes against the Islamic Republic over concerns about the loss of life.
Trump said he would discuss tensions between the U.S. and Iran at Camp David this weekend.
“We want to be proportionate,” Trump told reporters Saturday.
However, the president also said he has not ruled out using military force against Iran in the future.
“It’s always on the table until we get this solved,” he said. “We have a tremendously powerful military force in that area.”

And the Euros who are making money off of dealing with Iran, especially France, (Airbus and TOTAL Corp) will all whine and scream bloody murder about it.
Obama sent them all that money so that they can now turn around and be a well funded enemy. I don´t want to sound like a conspiracy nut but I think this has all been orchestrated. Maybe I´m the only one that can connect the dots. This whole thing reminds me of the cartoon pinky and the brain. If it wasn´t so sad that they are playing with real human lives it might be funny to see what has happened. I guess nobody thought that they might use all that money for terrorism. Duh.

I have never liked the idea of a military response being
“proportionate”. I think the President made the right call
in not responding militarily,but if a military response is warranted, it can’t be proportionate...it has to be prohibitive.

I think President Trump is using “proportionate” in the sense that if they kill no one, we don’t kill them...if they do kill, even a single American, the clearing smoke will be filled with keening and wailing....
It is just another Red Line. My mom never threatened me with, "you wait until your father gets home," she just ripped a switch off the willow tree and got down to business. Attitudes were appropriately adjusted, no waiting required.
I’d say thrashing a wayward id and deploying a massive military operation are different enough to be irrelevant...plus, your Mom didn’t have whole neighborhoods divide over whether or not she should thrash you or let you become a delinquent - and all have a say over whether she stayed your Mom or had you wrested away and given to those in the loony bin to raise.
