Cruz is a spineless coward precisely because he has supported Trump at times.
Trump insulted Cruz's wife's looks and mocked her mental health issues, and he mocked Cruz's dad.
I didn't like Cruz before 2016 - I was never impressed with him during the times that I was around and met with he and his staff, but after watching Trump completely trash his family publicly, I lost all remaining respect for Cruz, because Cruz ultimately bowed and kissed Trump's ring.
