Charlottesville Mayor: Don't Worry, Jefferson Can Still Celebrate Birthday 'in Hell'

Thomas Jefferson's birthday in mid-April is currently recognized as a city holiday in Charlottesville, VA. But if it was up to Mayor Nikuyah Walker, she'd change it to “Liberation and Freedom Day.” The alternative holiday, which she proposed at a city council meeting last month, would instead celebrate the emancipation of slaves in Charlottesville and Albemarle County. Walker is one of several people advocating for the change because it's well known that Jefferson, the third president of the United States and drafter of the Constitution, was also a slave owner.

Some citizens are up in arms over her suggestion, accusing her of trying to sanitize history. But she has no clue why because, as she explained in a recent message, Jefferson is still celebrating his birthday "in hell." She

Thanks 'mare'. You reminded me I have some Hostess White Powder Donuts about to expire. I mean if we're gonna be racis' and all. No doubt the 'mare' will have a reserved spot near the dark presence in the after life. And I coulda sworn I saw a VA license plate yesterday that said "Virginia Is for Lovers". Guess not so much.

No surprise, go read up on the bios of the five members of the Charlottesville City Council:

The other four members have extensive records talking about transportation and other real issues, while Nikuyah Walker's talks about being an "advocate for racial and social justice." She's a joke.

Those who deny history are destined to repeat it. Certain people would be wise to understand this.

TJ was a great humanitarian and Christian. I don’t expect that the mare will have to deal with his presence in he’ll when she gets there. Of course, TJ would be the first one to try to convince her to repent, in love... If he was with us today.

Even ugly, racist, black women can rise to positions of authority.

Jefferson was in France during the time of the Constitutional Convention. He wrote the Declaration of Independence with the help of a few others.

Constant liberal agitation designed to foment division and hate. This especially around election time to keep the black ignorant vote riled up and angry so they will vote their feelings rather than their brains. This poison must be confronted with consequential action or it will eventually kill any chance this nation has to survive.

Charlottesville used to be a nice city. It seems like it is declining these days.

It's beginning to look like 99% of all blacks are simply not compatible with civilization. Is it that they have some huge chip on their shoulder? Has this mayor been personally harmed by Jefferson? Was she somebody's slave?

I'm sick of these people who want to make merchandise of a past that doesn't concern them. Enough already.

Here in Tulsa we've got some of them who want to constantly parade the "Tulsa Race Riots" of 1921, like any of them were there. And "Race Riot" wasn't inflammatory enough to suit them. So they compelled the crackers to change it to "Tulsa Race Massacre." And they've got all kinds of monuments, whatever.

I never owned a slave and never shot an Indian and whatever happened in ancient history is of little concern to me. Enough already.

The only person on power that is attempting to preserve the History and the Soul of our great Republic is POTUS Trump.

Who would have thought a (former) NYC Liberal would end up being the one guy that stands up for our Founding Principles.

As the comedian George Wallace often says “Some people need their a**es kicked”. This idiot loser mayor isn’t worthy of licking the bottom of Thomas Jefferson’s shoes after he walked through the horse stables.

So Nikuyah has also taken upon herself to be the judge of souls. I think that’s way above her job description.

A thousand years from now, unless we fall to a Pol Pot or Taliban regime, and darkness obliterates all civilization, people will still remember and appreciate Jefferson. Five years from now, with a little luck, if anyone even mentions the name Nikuyah, people will ask, “What is that? Some kind of disease?”
