Chinese Activist: Camps in Communist China Like ‘During the Holocaust,’ Body Organs Being Sold

Jewher Ilham, a human rights activist who fled Communist China after her father was imprisoned, noted that China’s concentration camps are like the ones that operated during the Holocaust and that human body organs are being sold. Ilham spoke at this week’s Ministerial to Advance Religious Freedom, held at the State Department.

She also spoke with CNSNews.com about the conditions of the persecuted in Communist China and the possible actions that could be taken to lessen the harm done to Chinese minorities by the authoritarian government there.

“My father, Ilham Tohti, is in a Chinese prison serving a life sentence because he chose to speak out about what he believes are basic, essential human rights,” said Ilham on July 16, “the right to believe what you believe, the right to worship the way you want to worship, the right to think what you want to think.”

She continued, “Problems that are not fixed will always lead to bigger problems. The Chinese treatment of Uighurs [Muslims] was always causing bigger societal damage. Even before the horrific crackdown -- the camps, the ongoing torture of innocent people -- China was creating larger, longer-term problems because of the damage they were doing between groups of people. When people are treated and labeled as separate or different, as wrong or bad, human connection cannot happen.”

On July 18, CNSNews.com asked Ilham, “How are the Chinese reeducation and internment camps different from the concentration camps of Nazi Germany or the labor camps of the Soviet Union?”

“Okay, so, according to my knowledge, so far they are doing, what they have been doing is exactly the same as concentration camps during the Holocaust time,” said Ilham. “Now, Uighur people are also experiencing ethnic genocide, cultural genocide. The only difference, sadly, but also gladly, that not as many people have died so far.

(BBC News, YouTube) “But we still have people dying and people’s [body] organs have been on the market for sale, which is just not acceptable and should not be tolerated by us, by Uighurs, or by the entire world and by every community,” she said.

CNS News also asked Ilham, “So how can they be legally stopped given that China is a sovereign nation?”

“I would urge not only U.S. but also other nations could stand up and take actions and possibly sanctions or closely negotiate with Chinese government officials,” she said. “And I am not a politician myself, I don’t know how the country runs, how the country works, but I would suggest those government officials please do whatever you can based on your knowledge.

“Please help us because this is not about one person, not about one hundred people, it’s about one million, two million, or even three million people,” said Ilham. “It’s a humanitarian issue it’s not just politics, it’s never about politics, it’s about entire humanity.”

It is estimated that more than 2 million Uighurs are being held in reeducation/concentration camps in Communist china. They reportedly have been separated from loved ones, placed in austere, fortified camp environments, and forced to learn and apply communist policies into their religious belief and culture.

CHINA FORCES ITS POLITICAL PRISONERS TO SELL BODY PARTS JACQUELYN CORLEY AND JUSTIN HASKINS ON 2/1/16 AT 5:14 PM EST

02_01_ChinaOrganHarvest_01 Falun Gong practitioners hold portraits of fellow Chinese practitioners as they protest against China's crackdown on Falun Gong followers in front of the Chinese embassy in Bucharest, Romania on September 24, 2011. RADU SIGHETI/REUTERS SHARE OPINION CHINA ORGAN HARVESTING It sounds too unbelievable to be true, but dozens of highly respected investigators, scholars and government officials around the world claim the Chinese government is harvesting organs from groups considered to be political or cultural enemies of the regime currently in power.

It's no secret that there is a shortage of desperately needed organs in China (and around the world), and with tens of thousands of healthy Chinese prisoners locked away for all sorts of absurdities, experts say the government has secretly turned to the prison population as its source to fill the growing demand for organs and to provide "organ tourists" from Western nations with potentially life-saving treatments.

It's been widely known the Chinese government has been allowing what they call "organ donations" from prisoners, especially those prisoners on death row, for many years. Leaders in the international medical community, government officials and organizations have actively protested against this practice, arguing prisoners locked away in a government's prison don't actually have the true "freedom" necessary to "donate" anything.

Because China has historically provided very little data about its prison population, organ donations, or the treatment of prisoners in general, many human rights activists have argued it was possible China was forcing some of its prisoners to give their organs.

Many Chinese dissident groups, including members of Christian house churches, Tibetans and especially followers of Falun Gong, an outlawed peaceful Chinese religious movement created in 1992, have made allegations of extreme abuse against the Chinese government, including forced organ harvesting, since the 1990s.

Independent investigations by Ethan Gutmann, author of The Slaughter: Mass Killings, Organ Harvesting, and China's Secret Solution to Its Dissident Problem, David Kilgour, a human rights activist and former member of the Canadian House of Commons, and documentarian Ken Stone reveal the claims by Chinese dissident groups such as Falun Gong were true, although the exact size of the problem is difficult to estimate because of the lack of transparency in China.

"It is known that Chinese surgeons perform the removal procedure [on political prisoners] and sometimes the 'donor' has still been alive during this process—the organ-removal process is what actually kills them," Katrina Bramstedt told us in an interview. Bramstedt is a professor at Bond University in Australia and an outspoken critic of the practice of prison organ harvesting.

When we asked Bramstedt who these prisoners are and whether specific groups were being targeted, she replied, "[They are] prisoners of conscience—people who have beliefs that are contrary to Chinese policy, such as religious beliefs or philosophical beliefs."

In December 2014, the Chinese government announced it would no longer harvest organs from prisoners who have been executed, but Doctors Against Forced Organ Harvesting says data show organ donations in China have actually increased, which seems extremely unlikely if the practice has truly ceased, and it says China still refuses to commit to ending organ harvesting from prisoners of conscience, such as some Christians and Falun Gong.

Bramstedt says it's impossible to have a truly "willing" donor when prisoners are involved. "Because they are prisoners, they are already captive and under government coercion, power, influence, and control," Bramstedt said.

Other experts, however, believe prisoners should be allowed to choose freely to donate their organs, but only if the government involved has a history of defending human rights and only if independent watchdog groups are able to conduct independent investigations to ensure rights are not being violated, neither of which currently exists in China.

According to a 2007 report by David Matas and Kilgour, titled Bloody Harvest, the China International Transplantation Network Assistance Centre website listed massive prices for available transplant organs in 2006, including $98,000 to $130,000 for a liver and $150,000 to $170,000 for a lung, which means there is a financial incentive for Chinese officials to continue this unethical practice.

U.S. leaders must make it clear to Chinese officials prisoner organ harvesting, as it is currently practiced, is unethical and must not be tolerated under any circumstances. Without consistent pressure from the United States and other nations and international governing bodies, it's unlikely this humanitarian crisis will end.

China had its own re-education camps during the Cultural Revolution. Why the need to reference nazi germany? The ones in China were pretty darn bad.

Mao still has them beat. What is it, upwards of 60 million killed by Mao in the cultural revolution and Great Leap Forward.

The only reason that the U.S. did not contribute to the Democide of the 20th century, 200 million dead, is 2A.

But the U.S. has all the other infrastructure necessary. FEMA camps, a large prison system with the highest per capita imprisonment rate in the world, federal police state agencies under control of deep state and with no real control by the public.

BTW, I don’t include the CBP and agencies that protect us at the border. They are carrying out a constitutional responsibility. I’m talking about the ones that attempted a coup and generally harass US citizens.

Been going on for a while. It isn't just the Uigurs. The persecution of Falun Gong is the antireligious campaign initiated in 1999 by the Chinese Communist Party to eliminate the spiritual practice of Falun Gong (Chinese religious spiritual practice that combines meditation and qigong exercises with a moral philosophy centered on the tenets of truthfulness, compassion, and forbearance) in China, which maintains a doctrine of state atheism

We know that ISIS did some of this in the Levant for fundraising between 2012-1017. It is hard to have any sympathy for Muslims, but the Red Dragon is the greater evil.

Camps in Communist China Like ‘During the Holocaust,’ Body Organs Being Sold.

Which points out even more dramatically the insanity behind the U.S. allowing its pharmaceutical manufacturing industry being shipped to China.

Some would argue China's attitude regarding this unethical medical practice, which results in a humanitarian crisis, constitutes "fair notice" and most certainly ought to be a primary consideration in our relations.

You should. Christians are next. China had made that clear with their burning of churches and arrest of pastors and congregants.

Medical tourism is big business in China. Imagine you are dying from intractable heart failure and your physician has recommended a transplant. The likelihood is that you will die before a matched donor heart becomes available. not very long ago you could travel to China with $100,000 and in 2 weeks return with a new transplanted heart. Same with kidneys, livers and lungs. Not very ethical since the majority of the “donors” were convicted criminals who were executed when the recipients became available. The families of the donors were sent a bill for the cost of the bullet.

Amusing that the Disney Corporation will not film or do business in pro-life Georgia due to its anti abortion laws. Yet they avidly engage China without any qualms.

You are too smart to think it’s just against them and not certain Christians and many other groups.

But I guess some think as long as they get muzzies it’s worth sparing Christians

” “How much did they get?” — Planned Parenthood. “

That’s a helluva an insight.

In this case there is clear moral equivalence.

All people should care about any attempted genocide.

First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out because I was not a socialist.

Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out because I was not a Trade Unionist.

Then they came for the JEWS, and I did not speak out because I was not a JEW.

Then they came for me, and there was no one left to speak for me.

Crimes against HUMANITY are crimes against us ALL.

I may despise the MUDSLIMES as much as I despise the the KLAN, the Nazis, the Imperial Japanese (during 1932 to 1945), the COMMUNISTS, and all SOCIALISTS but to round up and imprison, and or murder an entire people is just plain wrong.
