CANADA: Gee…who could possibly hate dogs so much that they would scatter broken glass all over a dog park ?

Dog walkers say someone appears to be intentionally placing thousands of pieces of broken glass in the ground all around Dave Bartlett Park, an off-leash dog park in Manotick.
CTV News via VladTepesBlog Dog walkers fear someone is deliberately trying to harm their dogs. “Nobody thinks this is an accident,” said Dana McPhail. “There was 50, 60 people here yesterday everybody was upset and everybody was saying somebody doesn’t want this dog park here; somebody wants to hurt dogs.”
McPhail and other concerned dog owners placed signs and caution tape around the affected areas warning others of the threat of broken glass on the ground. McPhail said city crews arrived Tuesday and Saturday to clean the mess. Bartlett Park covers nearly 40-acres of land along the Rideau River in Manotick and serves as one of the city’s few remaining off-leash dog parks.

INN A letter was sent a few weeks ago to a local newspaper with a message from the “Revolutionary Islamic Force” claiming responsibility for sabotaging beaches north of Toronto and warning that similar operations would be carried out on other beaches throughout and north of Toronto.
The letter notes the motive for the action is Canada’s refusal to embrace Islam and continued following of the “Great Satan,” the United States.
“Infidels, you allow your women to walk on the beach naked and disgraceful. Your women are prostitutes,” the letter said, threatening to destroy tourist sites, attack people, carry out attacks on trains, poison drinking water, and burn forests. The letter recommends that Canadian citizens convert to Islam and follow the dictates of Muhammad.
Muslims. They consider dogs to be unclean and kill them if they are not working dogs (hunting and guard dogs).
Islam is a mental disorder.
If you take your dog to a dog park you should be arrested for animal abuse.
Look for a guy with a lot of dogshit in his yard
Maybe someone who has been bitten, or threatened. Maybe someone who is tired of having dog poop in his yard or on his sidewalk.
Not saying it’s ok to injure innocent dogs about it, but people do get fed up. Maybe someone who gets kept awake by them.
Whoever did this deserves to have their Achilles tendon’s cut.

If some guy is pissed about dog crap on his lawn (I do too), seems like an awful dumb move to attempt to shut down the dog park. “Well, we can’t go to the dog park, I guess we’ll just walk around the block and he can poop on the lawns.”
The main thing is potential attacke from other dogs. WAY too risky.

Could be people who are sick of idiot dog people, having a bad history with dogs, OR someone who really is NIMBY.

I had a great dog park but, the county made it into a dog park.

In the meantime, if I ever decide to buy a dog, it is going to be one of the handful of breeds that have the general classification of “pit bull.” Don’t worry, I will be extra careful with it’s training, so that it won’t eat children and what not, but if a Moslem tries to harm it, my pet will eat hearty that evening! Halal long pig, baby!

There are better ways than being a faux glazier in a dog park. If you have dog poop in your yard, just cover the areas desecrated in chili powder, black pepper, cayenne pepper, etc. after cleaning up. The dog, when he comes back to do his business, will sniff around to find out where he went before. He will get a spicy snootful.
I did this when one dog was constantly pooping in my side yard. After several Mexican snootfuls, he only comes around occasionally.

I checked into this. I did the math on my black lab. She’d have to eat 6 lb.s of chocolate to get sick and 9 lbs to die.
AFAIC the ‘chocolate = death’ is urban legend so fat women don’t have to share their chocolate with their dogs. My dogs absolutely love chocolate. I’m careful to feed them less than 6 lb.s at a time.
