Joe Biden said the White House under President Barack Obama, when Biden was vice president, did not do enough to address the concerns of white working-class voters in the Rust Belt.
"A lot of people were left behind," the 2020 Democratic candidate told the New York Times when discussing the post-recession economic recovery. "In areas where people were hard hit, I don't think we paid enough attention to their plight."
Biden, 76, tried chalking up the disillusionment of white former Democratic voters to a messaging problem, saying Obama told him he didn't want to take "a victory lap [because] we have so much more to do," despite pleas the White House "explain to people how we got to where we were now and why it happened."

Yes, within the first year of his election my black coworkers had removed their Obama pictures - he wasn’t doing anything real for them - just posturing - and they were looking at the same economic malaise as white Americans. They’d complain to me how they used to go on annual vacations when Bush II was in office and now they couldn’t afford it.
Obama’s re-election was a masterpiece; very few people could say they were better off than four years ago, but the enemedia still convinced enough people to vote for him.

They have to spin the 2016 election, and the first attempt (Trump stole it, aided by Russia) has fallen flat. Now they can say:
1) Obama was a terrible president,
2) Hillary was a terrible candidate, or
3) anything else but the truth (”messaging”, racism/sexism, deplorables, blah blah blah)...

But Obama did. He promised the coal miners that he would put them out of their jobs. And he did. And Biden was half of that ticket.

Well the Rust Belt has been the Rust Belt for a long time. Way before obama but hey, Biden was around as things began to rust. What did he vote for and when?
Somehow I dont think that “he was busy” is going to cut it, though it will be fun to unpack what “he was busy” doing.
