Democratic 2020 hopeful Elizabeth Warren on Saturday unveiled a sweeping gun control proposal that would see higher taxes on gun manufacturers, waiting periods for guns and an investigation into the National Rifle Association (NRA).
“In 2017, almost 40,000 people died from guns in the United States. My goal as President, and our goal as a society, will be to reduce that number by 80 percent,” Warren said in a Medium post announcing the plan. “We might not know how to get all the way there yet. But we’ll start by implementing solutions that we believe will work.” Warren proposes executive action to “rein in an out-of-control” gun industry and hold manufacturers accountable for gun violence. Those actions include background checks, extending bulk sale reporting requirements and raising the minimum age for purchase on certain guns.

Oh yeah, taxes always have solved the problem for Dem’s. I guess she’ll spend it on gun violence awareness programs where if you use a gun you can possibly kill people.

Perhaps she’s seeking a .1024% tax increase (cough cough, ahem!)
Since 75% of the 40k dead are suicides, how does she propose to reduce the overall rate by 80%? She’d have to confiscate every legally owned gun in America, leaving the gang bangers and criminals to continue on with their 20%.

Does Fauxcahontas not know, that higher taxes almost ALWAYS result in lower revenue?
Simple basic economics - if the price is raised too high, the demand almost automatically adjusts to LESS, and taxes on anything raises the price to the consumer.
There are literally millions of examples of this very basic economic reality, all down through history, and its political ramifications to the ruling class that imposes the higher taxes.
