According to our local Constable & the BCSD, EVERY day a householder in this county is forced to STOP an armed subject from completing a FELONY on the householder’s residence/business premises.
(As of 01AUG19, there have been 202 such “home defense incidents, with firearms” that were reported to LE agencies in our county, since 01JAN19. Obviously, there’s no way to know the number of such incidents wherein the police were not notified.)

Given that this is TEXAS where the vast majority of people have at least one firearm, you’d think that the criminals would “smarten up” & STOP trying to commit crimes or LEAVE Texas for a “safer place” to be a felon.
(In Bexar County, the most common firearm that is used for home protection is a pump-shotgun.)

In about 75% of cases, the incident ends without gunfire & with the criminal fleeing or in police custody. = In the about 25% of cases where gunfire does occur, about 40% end with the criminal(s) dead.
(Shotgun wounds at home defense ranges are usually lethal.)

Yours, TMN78247
