He had to go to eleven in the own-goal asshattery department, going postal on some nuisance bystander, and claiming that the term “Fredo” is a racist slur. Another example of liberal hypocrisy and goalpost shifting: anyone else recall how one of the left’s putdowns of George W. Bush was that he was the “Fredo” of the Bush family, which was in turn described as the Corleone family of American politics? No one—not even a Cuomo auxiliary—said this was a racial slur. But since everything is racist now, of course you can’t say “Fredo” any more. So Fredo Fredo Fredo. We live on the edge here. Total toxic transgressiveness. And I haven’t even gotten to the latest Jeffrey Epstein stories yet.

Fishtalk, Pugmama is right. I also had a cat, at ten years old, that lost weight so quickly over a three-week period it was startling. The fact it happened so quickly I almost didn’t notice before it was too late and the fact he was a Norwegian Forest cat and very long fur. Although his fur had also changed dramatically too.

There is another treatment besides pills I opted for and it cures the cat of hyperthyroidism but you always have to watch kidney function closely. It is a radioactive iodine injection.

This was expensive but I felt the better option for Gabby because pills often can’t regulate thyroid. This cures the problem. Plus you don’t have to isolate the cat after returning home as sometimes is stated on various websites.

He recovered beautifully from this and lived to be 16 years old. Good luck. I love cats so much I can’t find words. I understand your concern but do not wait to see a vet!
