Hollywood pushes endless myths that demonize guns and gun owners. Ultimately, the film industry endangers lives by misleading people about such an important issue. Here are just a few myths

But they use guns in movies. How hypocritical is that?
Hollywood people (actors, staff, studio owners) hate all guns........
except for the ones carried by their armed security guys day and night. Same as politicians. And Silicon Valley bosses.
They forgot the one where you can grip you recoilless handgun in one hand like a toddler with a candy cane while running and drop every single round from your magical endless magazine into a thimble-size target 30 yards away. After taking a .45 ACP round to the femur which simply produces a slight limp
Yup.
They love the guns in the movies and TV shows that make them millions.
Exactly. Hollywood loves guns - most action movies feature multiple guns, many of which would run afoul of Kalifornia’s rules. Both the good guys and the bad guys fire guns (just like real life!) The only action movie that didn’t have any guns was Charlie’s Angels, because Drew Barrymore insisted. Most Hollywood stars and execs are protected by bodyguards packing heat.
The only guns Hollywood doesn’t like are the ones that the common man carries
At the trap club I used to shoot at, someone had a collection of old American Rifleman magazines there to read through. In one of them from the 1970s, there was a feature on a recent interview with Jack Lord in which he mentioned that he’d be very supportive of a national ban on handguns. Obviously, this sort of attitude has been quite fashionable in Hollywood for about nearly the last 50 years or so.
I like how the good guy is able to make snap shots at amazing distances to drop henchmen with one shot. Yet somehow they manage to miss the main villain who is only across the room...at least until the end of the movie.
“MYTH: Guns are more likely to do harm than good.
REALITY: Guns are used at least hundreds of thousands of times a year for self-defense, far more often than they do harm”.
THIS is the No. 1 point that needs to be spread far and wide, but which the MSM does all it can to hide!
The recent tragedies have not altered this fact, they maybe nudged the percentage point .00001%.
I have had to use a firearm in self defense more than once, I moved away from that city/state to avoid it inevitably happening again.
I know far too many people who have had to defend themselves with a firearm in some manner.
They range from having to remodel the house once the cops released the scene to just yelling at the crud trying to break in that they would be shot if they came in.
All are self defense with a firearm, but only the ones with blood or a toe-tag make the biased news.
In fact most cases of self defense don’t even get a police report as victims do not need the hassle of becoming the “Suspect” from LE.
Which is the attitude they get since they are usually the only ones still around to be “Investigated”.
In the past several days I encountered for the first time (sheltered and untrendy old fart that I am) the John Wick movie trilogy on Youtube (excerpts). Talk about gun & death porn, it was a non-stop orgy of blood. I even saw that there was a clip of someone saying that Keanu Reeves is showing proper gun handling in his portrayal of the multiple murderer John Wick!
My point in this observation is that this film trilogy (so far) is an exemplar of Hollywood’s moral bankruptcy. If it feels good and sells, that is good for the industry. Yet any thought for morality or any of the old-line virtues derived from millennia’s of experience/history are, it appears, only to be a facade for the villains (usually white males)! The entire pop culture enthusiastically loves the money coming in from their product but utterly rejects any implication that the same product can have a bad influence on the consumer.
One of the dumbest scenes I’ve seen in Hollywood movies with guns is near the end of Beverly Hills Cop in which Eddie Murphy takes that shot from the crooked art dealer Victor Maitland point blank in the shoulder area. That very well could have gone right through him and hit the heart and/or other internal organs and killed him right there on the spot. Instead, he is able to get up and eventually (with Ronny Cox’s Bogomil) shoot Maitland to death and then that while later, he’s just nursing what appears to be a slight superficial wound. OK, so what actually did happen to him?
Their ‘bias’ ends at the ticket booth
Jack Lord was fairly conservative in some ways but was an absolute idiot on guns.
In one episode some evil person imports 6 little .25 automatics into the islands. There is an immediate crime wave caused by the guns.
They go so far as to show a person finding one of the guns then their face turns to evil as he picks it up. Clearly the gun is magically evil. Turning ordinary people into demons.
5.0 eventually “gets them off the streets” and everything goes back to normal.
Yeah, consider if it were a 9mm, he just had the equivalent of a full-on baseball bat blow to the shoulder. Which left a 1/2 hole ripped into his meat and a red hot plug of lead embedded deep in his body. Nah! Nothing! Shock? Pfffft. Just give me an arm sling. I gotta make out with the rescued chick.
If you can remember the olden days before 1968, guns in movies and TV were norm,al. The Westerns on TV caused Ruger and Colt to remake their single Action Army pistol in .22 and they sold like crazy.
Everyone also wanted a lever action rifle just like in the TV shows, and when Dirty Harry pulled out his .44 Smith and Wesson “which would blow your head clean off!”, you could not find a .44 mag anywhere as they were immediately snapped up.
After the murder of Bobby Kennedy and the ensuing anti-gun hysteria, handguns suddenly became the ultimate evil on all TV shows. Rifles, however, were GOOD!
Throughout the 1970s and 80s, the mantra was “Handguns were bad! Rifles were Good!”
Then in 1984, the anti-gunners changed gears and grabbed for the rifles, and missed.
Same plot for STREET OF SAN FRANCISCO and Quincy M.E. A .25 cal escapes and shoots lots of people dead before it is melted into a sewer cover.
Meanwhile Quincy is running around yelling “WE’VE GOT TO STOP “IT” BEFORE “IT” KILLS AGAIN!
So many anti-gun shows back then. and they still have not gotten rid of handguns. So they made a grab at the rifles. If they get a ban on them they will be back for the handguns.
Not to.mention they live in mansions surrounded by walls in mostly White gated communities in galaxies far far away.
I also carry a Beretta Tomcat loaded with hydra-shocks or my Ruger LCP .380
