Intelligent, discerning men of good character will continue to marry because the benefits outweigh the risks. The unfair family courts are an outlying risk.
The real reason young people aren’t marrying is because they don’t know how. Marriage and family has been denigrated in popular culture since the 50’s.
No man in the 19th century would have referred to a wife as a ‘ball and chain’. It would have been considered vulgar and crass and a man with such an attitude would have been ostracized from polite society.
Feminism/Playboyism (and they are inextricably linked) tore down the pedestal women used to occupy in the name of free love/sex and now people don’t even know what gender they are.
Until men (as a group) rebuild that pedestal and put women back on it and eschew irresponsible sex and vulgar living the beatings will continue.
Completely wrong. Until divorce is no longer a lob sided arrangement favoring women and until feminism dies down, marriage will continue to decline. Intelligent men are the ones opting out of marriage and only the ones that want kids at all cost, marriage risk be damned, are getting married. How old are you out of curiosity? You have no idea how much younger women have changed even in the last 15 years! Study after study shows after two partners women have a harder time bonding permanently and nearly every attractive college educated woman has had at least 30 partners by the time she gets married at 25, 30 years of age.

Sure, those men will marry - but they are a small subset of the population. Groups that supported marriage have been successfully marginalized or subverted by the left - with the Catholic Church first among them.
Not the pair bonding, it’s true for men as well although the effect is somewhat stronger in females.
I question the validity of the “insane” number of partners. The studies are all over the map, but the ones with the highest numbers are mostly garbage online types which have zero controls and self selected participants.

I'll see if I can find the dating website survey from a few years ago where men rated women on the site a near perfect bell-curve for women while women rated the top 20% 8-10s and everyone else 1-4 with nothing in between. Again, if you want to even get a taste of what the top alpha guys get, setup a profile on all the dating sites (match, bumbl, plenty of fish, tinder, etc) of a super hot 25 year old guy, write something a**holish in your profile and just see what happens. And that's without ANY "game" which is 3/4 of the battle.
You realize that “Dating website surveys” are the worst form of social science data? It is no way representative of the population as a whole.

Apparently you have immersed yourself in this virtual milieu and confused it with reality. Googles says that half of young adults use dating apps. Other research says 1/3 of that half use them for hook ups. In reality land, that is 16% of young adults behaving as you describe.
Technology has not changed basic human nature.
You continue to ignore what I’ve said over and over again that in person game is more important than dating apps, but given you can’t turn your body into a 25 super hot male that has learned game, the closest you see would be the dating app with a fake profile. And the dating app bell curve, or lack thereof, plays out the same in real life. You can pretend women’s behaviors aren’t changing and I’ll keep watching the marriage rate continue to drop
