House Democrats this week advanced a new measure to encourage states to pass “red flag” laws, known as extreme risk protection orders, that authorize removing guns and ammunition from dangerous individuals.
Democrats on the House Judiciary Committee amended the measure during a Wednesday mark-up to authorize the federal government to issue extreme risk protection orders in some instances, but they rejected an amendment that would have red-flagged anyone who law enforcement lists as a gang member.
“The majority of violent crime, including gun violence, in the United States is linked to gangs,” Rep. Ken Buck, a Colorado Republican who sponsored the amendment, said Wednesday. “My amendment is quite simple. It would allow the issuance of a red flag order against anyone whose name appears in a gang database if there was probable cause to include that individual in the database.”
Democrats objected, with reasons that sounded very familiar to Republicans.

Actually, no. Law-abiding citizens will put up a fight and will coordinate their efforts with one another. Gang members will be randomly targeted because the Left knows who they are and most of them will willingly give up their guns in the name of “peace.” They have no concept of the 2nd Amendment and tyrannical government.
Nobody should ever lose their Constitutional rights because their name was put on a list without due process.
The definition of "gang member" or "terrorist" can be expanded quite easily.

Gang bangers are a special demographic of gun owners that probably lean to the left so they will be exempted from gun laws to the extent it’s feasible. It’s predictable given that gun laws are intended by the Democrats to punish political opponents but really have nothing to do with public safety.

The so called SPLC has labeled a good number of conservative groups as "hate" groups. Doesn't take much to change "hate" to "terrorist".
I have no doubt the dims, IF they ever got margins like they had in 2008, would so move to change those "hate" labels to "terrorist" labels.
The street gangs are the modern day Democrat KKK. The street gangs will terrorize the Republicans and bully them into shape to further the socialist agenda. The Republicans must get rid of their ability to defend themselves in order for a true Dictatorship of Socialism to effectively govern the slave state.
Undeniable proof their intent isn’t deterring crime or “gun violence”. This is the hill we die on.
Current Democrat Party needs to be politically destroyed by the American voters and totally revamped from top to bottom. Obama laid the groundwork for the sociailist/communist, tyrant, Despot, Dictator, Orwell “Big Brother” (the Democrat Party) to mature and grow, while he directed the activity to get rid of our POTUS, Trump with his criminal cohorts in the DOJ, FBI and National Security sectors!!!
Does anyone really believe that the likes of James Comey, James Clapper & John Brennan, etc. did these criminal acts on their own...never, Obama ordered/authorized them to proceed...folks...the big fish, even bigger then Hillary Clinton was and will always be Barack Hussein Obama & his crimimal, buddy, Joe Biden.
