Crude prices surged Sunday evening following an attack on Saudi Arabia’s oil infrastructure and announcement from President Trump that he has authorized the release of oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve.

U.S. oil futures advanced about 12% to $61.60 a barrel shortly after trading opened at 6 p.m. ET. Brent crude, the global gauge of oil prices, soared 13% to nearly $69 a barrel. If those moves held, they would mark some of the biggest intraday for crude in years.

Depressing.
But thank you for the factual input here. At 73 I’ll hate to switch to a skateboard but if gas goes too high I’ll have to.

Maybe hitch a ride on the back bumper of one of Hillary’s heavy, huge SUVs. My sister in law lives in Chappaqua.

Keep drilling and fracking. Build Keystone and the other pipelines needed to bring more oil and gas to market. Also, we need to increase refining capacity.

That’s a bad idea in a potential war situation... People are going to have to pay more until we figure out what’s happening.

This is another unnecessary panic and should be over soon.

Crude markets are close to pure emotion and herd mentality. Gosh, sounds like all markets doesn’t it?

Market dump. Which it did. Vix is volatility. He bought calls...meaning he wants the vix market to go up.

He put on a position again last week. Almost 6 million dollars. He doesnt need Vix to go to 24. He just needs it to rise and get out. Or..he may be trying to force other issues in market as some of my posts have indicated .

Vix effects the price of all options. Higher it goes the more costly they all get.

Thanks, I think I see the potential profit. $6M in calls, 600K for some drones. Actually I'm old hat at this, My first sale ever was short selling $1000 in cattle futures in 1978. I covered the next day for $5300.

Here in CA it is always over 3 bucks a gallon

I filled up the day before the attack, 3.37 a gallon

Just in time...I have a BIG tank, won’t need more for a month or so.

Oil companies are the worst. Stopped at a Valero on Long Island this AM and price was $2.46. A good LI price. Drove another mile and passed a Mobil and pricecwas $3.10. Drove back later, passed the Valero and price was 2.99.
