Energy security, the unstable Middle East, and the wisdom of electing Donald Trump
American Thinker ^ | 09/16/2019 | Don Sucher

A wise man once wrote that 'wisdom is vindicated by her children.' (Matthew 11:19) Or, to put it another way, that we can judge who is truly wise by how their actions work out.

If we accept that axiom, then the wisdom of electing our president should be becoming increasingly obvious. Undeniable, really.

A case in point: Back in the 1970s, the economy of the Western world was held up for ransom by a few relatively unstable Middle Eastern nations. This, because they, by an act of nature, owned much of the energy upon which the modern world depends.

Since that time, we have seen several different approaches to preventing that 'ransom' situation from happening again -- approaches that included President Jimmy Carter's wishful thinking that a non-petroleum-based synthetic energy source could be economically developed and manufactured, to President Barack Obama's equally 'wishful' thinking that the hateful and unstable Middle Eastern countries could be bought off and won over by simple kowtowing to them while sending them billions of dollars of American cash.

None of that worked. There was no wisdom in those approaches that could be "vindicated by her children."

No, it took a man with business sense -- proven practical wisdom -- to turn things around. And that was the person of President Donald Trump. For he, and seemingly he alone among influential leaders, understood the reality of what achieving energy and economic security required: The development of America's own vast petroleum resources, and the unleashing of all of America's entrepreneurial energy toward that end.

And now we know that he did so none too soon, for the Middle East is right now on the verge of a total implosion. War there is getting more likely, day by day.

Can we imagine the state our economy even now would be in if President Trump had nor overruled the false "wisdom" of Washington, New York and California? This, by forcing through against all their resistance the actions and infrastructure development required for America to be, for the first time since at least the 1960s, energy self-sufficient.

Now, thanks largely to this one man, Donald Trump, we as a nation are free to act or not act according to the needs and interests of our own nation. That, while they -- the world at large -- are 'free' to follow their own delusions into a world of political chaos and economic madness.

Imagine,if you will, a Hillary presidency at this juncture. The USA would be experiencing rolling blackouts, food shortages, medical shortages and a massive increase in crime and invasions from the south. The stock market, if it still existed, would be at a record low. Unemployment, through the roof. Etc.Etc.Etc.!

When, in the last 5000 years or so, has the Middle East ever been considered ‘stable’?......................

President Trump is a man who sees clearly and acts decisively. He is General Grant without the whiskey. General Patton without the foul language.
We haven’t had such a man as president in many many decades and the pantie-waist, cowardly, republican politicians are shown to be almost worthless.
And, the democrats descend every further into madness in their inability to deal with him.
Our country should be thanking God Almighty for him.

Hillary would have continued Obama’s policies and done everything to stop the production of fossil fuels here. Given this crisis-in-the-making, I could easily see oil at $100 now, with gas at $3.00 in cheap areas and well over $4.00 in California and other places with average IQs under 90. The economy would be tanking; people would be losing jobs and industry would be cancelling projects left and right. Those things just deal with energy production - we’re not even touching upon taxes and regulations. Yes, we’d be in, or just starting, a DEEP recession right about now.

But Hillary was “the savior” of the country, right?

“General Patton without the foul language.”

Well, maybe not.

But I agree 100% with the rest of your post. Now let’s just see him bury Dem gun control plans that’ll wreck the Constitution, and we’ll have by far the best President in at least a century.

We have more infrastructure to build. We need to complete Keystone, build more pipeline from the Permian to Houston and increase refining capacity. We also need to drill ANWR. This will take a few more years but we are much less dependent than we were and well on the way to being free of the vagaries of the Middle East.

Thank goodness for Fracking and thank goodness for Donald Trump.
