Presidential candidate Andrew Yang said on Twitter that he will sit down with ousted "Saturday Night Live" comedian Shane Gillis.
The entrepreneur tweeted that the two will be "sitting down together soon" after the comedian reached out.
NBC's "SNL" decided not to hire Gillis after a video of Gillis using a racial slur against Asian people resurfaced last week, in addition to a podcast where Gillis called Yang a derogatory term. Variety also reported that Gillis used anti-gay and anti-Muslim language on his show.
The remarks sparked outrage, but Yang said Gillis should keep his job.
"We would benefit from being more forgiving rather than punitive," Yang said.
Gillis responded to the initial release of his remarks in a tweet, saying, "I'm happy to apologize to anyone who's actually offended by anything I've said."
Now we learn he's begging Andrew Yang to save his career.

Comedy has always had a pass since it is supposed to be fun. Not when you have Communist thought Nazis around.

I am too. To crap humor. And his is. And so is SNL's for that matter..
Gillis should have made jokes (maybe he did...) about white, conservative, straight, Republican, Christian men. No problem there, and he would have probably been given a raise in salary by SNL.
No one ever raised an eyebrow when you called them “gooks” when they were shooting at you.

Should anti Muslim and anti KKK language be used in the same sentence? I’m not sure why one entity gets a great rap and the other bad.
I remember a show that was on about 40 years ago called Saturday Night Live. It was pretty funny.

Amazing how most of civilization has lived with silly name calling up until now. Sticks and stones may break my bones but names can never hurt me.
Think he said, Hey, baby have a look at my yang!
Yang is a Chinese name, so I don’t think Andrew was offended by “gook” or “nip,” which stand for other ethnic groups.
But who is Shane Gillis, anyway?
