90 Per Cent of Plastic Waste Polluting Earth’s Oceans Comes From Asia and Africa
Summit News ^ | 18 September, 2019 | Paul Joseph Watson

Despite westerners being lectured by climate activists like Greta Thunberg, a study has found that around 90 per cent of plastic waste polluting earth’s oceans comes from Asia and Africa.

During her U.S. tour, Thunberg cited “horrifying pictures of plastic in the oceans,” as one of the primary reasons why Americans should listen to her.

However, researchers at Germany’s Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research discovered that a small number of rivers account for the vast majority of plastic pollution and none of them are located in western countries.

“The 10 top-ranked rivers transport 88-95 percent of the global load into the sea,” Dr. Christian Schmidt, a hydrogeologist who led the study, told the Daily Mail. “The rivers with the highest estimated plastic loads are characterized by high population – for instance the Yangtze with over half a billion people.”

Out of the top ten rivers that produce the most pollution, eight are in Asia and two are in Africa. The Yangtze River in China and the Ganges River in India were responsible for the most plastic pollution.

They have buried this information. I’ve been reading about this for many years now. It’s not new. Folks here on FR have posted articles like this for a long time now.

I discussed this subject with a whack job lib once. I was threatened with bodily harm if I “didn’t shut up”.

You can’t reason with these people.

Just think of all the rubbish swept away from the last hurricane in the Bahamas . Or that tsunami in Japan. Just to name a couple.

True. And there is a lot of debris in the oceans.

The Left wants Trillions from the US (see Kyoto and Paris Climate Accord) for our "pollution", and never acknowledges the environmental damage caused by India, China, Indonesian, Somalia, Liberia, Iran, etc.

It is all a shakedown.

"Green" is the new "Red." "Climate Change" is simply a vehicle to install Global Marxism through the New World Order.

And guess who is exempt from the anti-polution laws the Liberals want to force on the US and Europe? You guessed it! India, China and Africa.

That's why this whole thing is a scam.

True enough. If we could reason with those people, they wouldn’t be anarchists or Communists or whatever the hell freakazoids they are!

They would be much more like us!

Yes, then they can fly the boat back home.

Anyone ever notice that there’s never been a photograph of the famed Plastic Island?

Anyone ever noticed that there’s never been any actual data about the amount of straws that are just tossed on the ground? A nine year old kid’s science fair project started that whole kerfuffle.

This was actually first reported back in 2017. The mainstream media and the liberals bury these stories because they aren’t politically correct.

You are not allowed to blame people in 3rd world countries for ANY of the world’s problems.

China pumps out more greenhouse gases than the US. But you hear NOTHING from the climate alarmists about how to curb China’s output.

I wonder where the US falls on that list. I’d bet that we’re under 2%.

The US has made great strides since the ‘60s-’70s when we did have a litter problem; we’ve come a long way, no question. Even with actual garbage dumping in the ocean, we’re waaaay behind the various s#ithole countries.

This just confirms earlier studies.

Europe, North America, Australia and South America account for 5-10% of oceanic plastic TOTAL.

What percent of this already small total does the US account for? I’ve been to São Paulo. I’ve seen how filthy that river is. I’m willing to bet there are at least a few more in Latin/South America that account for a large share of the 5-10% that is not Asia or Africa.

Now ask yourself what percent of a country’s total plastic straws are.

Yes. This is how stupid, useless and authoritarian it is to ban plastic straws in a country that can’t possibly produce more than a tiny fraction of all oceanic plastic anyway.

When will any of these ‘journalists’ admit that a lot of that stuff ended up in the oceans after the massive and deadly tsunami that killed over 250,000 people and wiped whole communities off the map? It had to go somewhere, right?

Why can’t they be honest?
