As founder of the Open Society Foundations, my interest in defeating Xi Jinping’s China (1) goes beyond U.S. national interests. As I explained in a speech in Davos earlier this year, I believe that the social-credit system Beijing is building, if allowed to expand, could sound the (2) death knell of open societies not only in China but also around the globe,

Here we see the two pillars of George Soros' master plan for the world: (1) tells us that he has no concern for that which is or is not in America's national interest. That is simply because he does not support but rather opposes nationalism. Hence the idea of identifying and supporting America's national interests is anathema to him, but nota bene, America's national interests and George Soros' personal ambitions in this instance coincide.

(2) "Open Society" sounds nice and conventionally "liberal" in the traditional sense of the word as it is still understood in parts of Europe but Soros does not mean the free exchange of ideas rather he means the full propagation of his ideas, of progressive ideas all as outlined in his schema for an "open" society. His support, financial and otherwise, of 501(c)(3) operations in America whose only identifiable purpose is to squelch conservative speech, demonstrates his understanding of an "open" society. The problem with the Chinese social-credit system is not so much that it represents a closed society but that it is not his closed society.

Unlike many leftists who do not have Soros's intellectual candlepower and are ankle biting opportunists who would sellout the country's long-term national security interests for short-term personal political gain, Soros at least recognizes the existential threat posed by China to his interests and, incidentally, to America's interests which he wants to preserve long enough to fully subvert. If the Chinese system takes over, he is out. As Churchill said upon Hitler's invasion of the Soviet Union, "if Hitler invaded Hell I would at least make a friendly reference in the House of Commons to the devil." Hence, Soros renders a backhand complement to Trump.

Thank you. Explains a lot.

“The problem with the Chinese social-credit system is not so much that it represents a closed society but that it is not his (Soros) closed society.”

Infighting for control is typical among Communists/Dictators/Totalitarians.

Definitely something worth leveraging/instigating.
