Koch Network Admits They Failed to Stop Trump’s Tariffs: ‘We Were Wrong’
Breitbart ^ | 20 Sep 2019 | JOHN BINDER

The donor-class Koch network headed by GOP mega-donor Charles Koch is now admitting they failed to turn the American people against President Trump’s tariffs on Chinese imports.

In June 2018, the Koch network of organizations — which include Americans for Prosperity, Freedom Partners, and the Libre Initiative — launched a campaign against Trump’s economic nationalist policies that have helped weaken China’s economy and brought the U.S. steel industry roaring back, mostly by imposing tariffs on various foreign imports.

The goal of the Koch network’s campaign was to champion free trade at all costs by claiming tariffs are increasing prices on consumers. The campaign, though, has been such a failure that the Koch network is halting the effort.

Officials with the Koch network told CNBC that they will release new ads attacking the Trump administration’s economic nationalist agenda, but that they do not yet know what the message for those ads will be.

Slightly misleading headline. The Koch network isn’t admitting to being wrong about tariffs. They’re admitting to having failed in their anti-tariff / anti-Trump propaganda efforts.

“The argument that, you know, the tariffs are adding a couple thousand dollars to the pickup truck that you’re buying is not persuasive,” a senior Koch official, who declined to be named, said during a briefing in New York.

It’s not persuasive because it’s pure BS.

These globalist pricks have no problem at all with other nations imposing massive tariffs on American goods. But when Trump imposes reciprocal tariffs to even the trade playing field, the Kochs and their ilk cry socialism. ...another ludicrous charge. Protectionism isn’t socialism. Tariffs were by far the largest source of federal revenue until the Federal income tax began right before WW1. Our Founders were all protectionists to varying degrees. Globalists (mostly of the fake conservative variety) have succeeded in the last few decades in turning protectionism and tariffs into dirty words.

Well at least they’re honestly admitting they were wrong.

I take that back, a senior Koch official admitted it but remained anonymous.

Let’s hear an official press release.

So tired of people not being honest about their mistakes.

Great post and agree with all of it.

That being said, it is beneath Breitbart to resort to such yellow journalism BS in the titles.

The Kochs care only about maintaining the free flow of Cheap Foreign Labor and the continued flow of Cheap Communist Chinese made product.
They could not care less about Americans, America. And, as such they HATE MAGA / KAG policies and the man Championing MAGA / KAG policies.

Hopefully by the Kock’s doubling down, Trump will double down as well on tariffs.

They are the ONLY way to stop the Red Dragon.

How much is a SHACK in Palm Beach?

A million dollars?

How many acres and how many sq. feet is the Palm Beach mansion of David Koch..?

I'd say that's priced north of $35,000,000.
