This is all too typical of all their gun control initiatives. I’m not sure it’s because they identify with criminals, but rather that they are too afraid to attempt any confiscation. They seem to prefer the “one citizen at a time” approach, using full SWAT operations. It makes it easier to eliminate the citizens, as shown in more than one instance in Maryland.

You would have to ask them that. That poor guy in Maryland came out second best in his encounter with the police due to being Red Flagged. I read of some more that were killed as a result of being Red Flagged, but I can't recall the specifics. I have never been on the receiving end of being Red Flagged.
As far as the weenie gestapo cops are concerned, I am going to be as good to you as you were to me and give them back to you.

Hello, Red Flag people? Yeah, hey, my neighbor is nuts. He played the Greenwood song Proud to be an American. Can you come take his guns? Right away sir. Our armoured deputies will be right over to crash his door and search his house..
"Oh, by the way, everyone in the neighborhood knows you're coming..."
I suspect that it won't take too many of these events before some "manageable" situations are constructed, to the detriment of the responding LEO teams.
Just sayin'...
