Everyone knows guns kill people. There is no way a film would influence people.</sarc off>

Really the best you generally get from “influencers” is that they’ll put your link in front of a lot of people. This can be good, more people seeing your link is more potential customers. But as for actually getting people to want your stuff, or want to do stuff, actually influencing behavior, not so much.

“So — based on a dozen interviews and my own experience as an influencer, should you do it? The fact is, you probably have no choice.

If you want your brand to remain relevant to young people, you have to go where they are, and for now, that’s on Instagram.

But be warned that the world of Instagram influencing really is like a gold rush. It’s boom or bust, and most of it seems to be happening in California. Spoken as a former piece of fool’s gold: Be careful out there. “

For those that feel that media has no influence on us, I ask this:

Whats the purpose of :

Campaigning for office?

What’the purpose of and concern over Fake News?

I read them, and none deny the ability of influence, just that many in the industry fake thier follower numbers.

That was a playful cartoonish character.

Other than filling rooms with colored smoke, he didn’t do much.

[Of course it will create mass shootings.

In the liberal social media world there is a terms called “influencers”.

People that merely based on their actions make others mimic them. ]

My impression is that entertainment in the Orient is far more violent than anywhere else. The body count in each of John Woo’s signature productions - The Killer and Hard Boiled - is practically sufficient to staff an infantry company. And yet the murder rate (homicides per 100,000 population) in Woo’s hometown, Hong Kong, is literally 1/25 the US murder rate. Japan’s the same way - with chanbaras (samurai epic series) a staple on TV and graphic depictions of death fairly routine. And yet Japan’s murder rate is 1/15 of the US.

But technically not an overdose nor suicide as it supposedly wasn't deliberate. It was CDI, combined drug intoxication. I think most of use have enough sense to know theres really little difference as all of us know that mixing crap together in our systems is likely to get toxic sooner or later but still its considered something different.

I guess my point is that something like this can theoretically happen to any of us if you don't pay attention to physician/pharmacist directions. If it says "don't take A in combination with B" then they know that something bad will almost certainly happen and they mean it. Ive seen it happen to people that had no intent and with us all getting older there are likely to be more things in our lives that don't go together.

Agree. Besides, NO ONE will ever match Heath Ledger. Utter perfection.

Good question. Also, if movies don’t affect behavior, why do companies spend over 3 billion a year for product placement?

Expand that. What of the billions of $$$ spent on advertising? Is it wasted money?

Ledger is what made the movie the only very good of one of the Nolan Batman trilogy. I doubt it was playing the role that led him to taking his own life, but I don’t know. I’m guessing it was addiction.

He dominated every scene he was in.

With Ledger’s history of psychological problems, he likely should not have had access to the valium, ambien or most of the rest of that-valium has been used for suicide many times all by itself, just like nembutal has-it doesn’t appear that he cared if he died, whether it was intentional or not...

I was brought up in a naturalist family-drugs were not on the menu any more than processed food was-if it wasn’t natural and organic it was not consumed-most of us developed an intolerance of drugs that persists to this day-I’m one of them, so I still live drug free-the 2-3 times I’ve taken a prescription med, I ended up in an ER, and once had a near-death experience-I avoid even OTC stuff and have for over 40 years.

Granted, those of us who have extreme and dangerous reactions to drugs are few and far between-but you are right that we all should be very, very aware of what we put into our bodies-drugs are not magic and can be deadly-most people have NO idea that drugs can build up in the body-and that is made worse if you are taking multiple drugs-I was taught not to even overuse herbal remedies, especially the ones that have a strong effect-even something like Echinacea can be toxic if you overuse it over a period of time...

I don’t always see movies based on comic books, but when I do, I prefer them to be Lego based.

Have you seen "The Lego Batman Movie"? Absolutely the best of the whole lot! (Always be yourself....unless you can be: Batman!)
