Senate should probe Hunter Biden like they did BillyCarter (check for influence peddling)

Why was Hunter Biden paid a gargantuan salary to serve on the board of a Ukraine energy company? Was it to share his (hard to see) experience and expertise in energy? Or was it to be an unofficial lobbyist, using his political connections and his Dad's, to swing sweet deals with DC power brokers?

Back in 1978, when Jimmy Carter's brother, Billy, signed on as a lobbyist for the government of Libya, it was dubbed "Billygate" and led to US Senate hearings on the alleged influence peddling.

Why has today's Senate - under GOP control, supposedly - failed to do similar oversight duty on Joe Biden's son (and Joe Biden himself?)

You could say there's a "Huntergate" needing investigation. But maybe we should call it "GOPgate" or Lindseygate, or "McConnellgate" if the Republicans for some reason have decided they want to cover their eyes and cover for the Bidens?

I don’t think they (the Senate) really want to open this. If you go up and down the Senate line and look at their own kids...you will likely find at least ten of them in favored positions without any expertise or background. Add to it....while taking down Hunter, you would also take down Joe Biden (serious ethics violations). And there is this matter of what happened to the $1.8-billion given for the natural gas development ‘game’ in the Ukraine....which I don’t believe any of the money rests in Ukraine today or was ever used for its purpose.

But if anyone wants to pursue this...rather than drag this via the US system, let’s allow the Ukraine to charge up Hunter and his associates, and if there’s jail-time...he can spend it there in the Ukraine.

Perhaps he was hired because Burisma was under investigation for corrupt practices, and Hunter promised Burisma that he could convince his father to shut down that investigation.

He was discharged from the Navy for cocaine use, so perhaps he could sell Hunter Cocaine.

There was a lot of corruption to investigate - when Obama was in office. Both parties, Congress, the DOJ, FBI, and who knows who else, ignored it or cooperated with it.

Eventually the Democrats realize going after Trump over a phone call will hurt themselves the most. Then the news will flush this down the memory hole until the next fake scandal.

Another obstructive congressional investigation? That’s the Fox guarding the hen house. Waste of taxpayer money. They cannot police themselves. Need another way.

Pepsi On Ice is onto something. It would NOT be at ALL surprising, that everyone in the Beltway, Democrats and Republicans, want to help their chic sons and daughter, for whom they paid $$ to go to Ivy League schools. They want to get them in the fast lane to wealth, and could easily give their children perks, that for the most part would be hard to discover. This works well, believe me in Mexico. Peddling influence has been around a long time. Even John Adams had a derelict son who probably thought he could use his NAME to line his pocket and buy him drinks.

Because the Senate has too many Never Trumpers as committee chairmen.

He was discharged from the Navy for cocaine use...

Billy completed four years with the United States Marines, and received an honorable discharge!

I liked Billy Carter, Hunter Biden is scum.

Question?
Billy became a registered foreign agent to illegally deal with Lybia.
Is the Biden Jr a foreign agent?

Is the Biden Jr a foreign agent?

Maybe. Hunter Biden might have registered as a foreign agent for his lobbying work. He would have been required to register as a foreign agent for Ukraine if he represented Ukraine's interests in the United States, but not just for working in Ukraine.
