Women, Minorities Fueling Increase in Concealed Handgun Permits

Each year brings a new record increase in the number of concealed handgun permits. The rate of growth in permits among women and minorities has far outpaced growth among white men. The data paint a picture of incredibly law-abiding permit holders, the vast majority living outside America’s insular media capitals.

A new report from the Crime Prevention Research Center shows that there are now 18.7 million concealed handgun permits in the U.S., up 1.4 million since last August. Far more people carry guns today than in 2007, when there were only 4.6 million permits. Sixteen states now no longer require a permit to carry in their state. Eleven of those states made the change since 2015.

Don’t forget the States that have Constitutional Carry, no Permit Required.

I only have a few guns left but more than I need at my age and health. Oklahoma passed constitutional carry and it becomes effective Nov. 1.

I gave my Son-in-Law a .40 cal. He is not into guns but we did a little shooting and he is a good shot. Of course I taught him. I plan to give my Daughter a Walther PP in .22LR. She can carry it in her purse.

My Grandson is 16 but his parents can buy his and his Sisters. They have a lot more money anyway.

This and those buying guns for home protection are adding votes for President Trump.

Votes that never show up in any polls.

In the past couple of years I have had many female relatives and friends ask me about arming myself.

I ask them are they concerned about being attacked in their home.

If so get a 20 gauge pump with a short barrel and load it with bird shot. Aim from the hip and target the midsection of a home invader.

If they want CC, get a 22 revolver that fits into their favorite daily purse and load it with hollow points.

Practice firing these weapons, and remember in real life, you are not going to let a scumbag hurt you or your family members.

With the hordes of illegals/muzzies allowed to flow into our country and the rape/murder/sex slave stories that are abounding. Some American women apparently just ain’t having any of it and will kill to protect themselves and loved ones..

Yeah, the snowflakes bleat that it will be the Wild West with out of control rednecks shooting up the streets. Nothing could be farther from reality.

When implemented here in MS it was a big yawn.

Of course, everyone carried Permit or no Permit long before the Law changed. Every other Woman walking down the street had a Pistol in their Purse.

Moved here from CA. Talk about a change of Latitude and Attitude. LOL

Check the new Law in your State.

Here in MS we have constitutional carry, but you need to have your Pistol in a Holster or Sleeve. The definition is a bit clouded though.

A Woman can’t just throw her Pistol in her Purse and a guy can’t just stick Pistol in his pocket.

TOO BAD that there aren’t 10X that many investigated/trained/armed licensees.

Why get a 20 gauge when 12’s are the same price? Get 00 buck and rifled 1 oz slugs.

"A new report from the Crime Prevention Research Center shows that there are now 18.7 million concealed handgun permits in the U.S."

Hmm....that works out to 0.058% of the U.S. population. So, roughly 6 people out of a hundred are licensed to carry.

It's good to see that number rising, but it's still far too low.

Also, many people carry without a license. I know some.
