Otherwise, we have two freezers full of homegrown beef, pork and chicken, along with vegetables from our garden and fruit from our orchard.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Another reason I go out rarekt - do not eat any processed food plus LCHF (low carb, high healthy fat). We eat primarily venison, grass-fed beef & other meats from a local farmer, eggs from a relative’s chickens & I have a garden every year. Fox just raided the hen house (successfully) so that’s put a dent in egg production. :-(

I won’t surrender to the Red Hen. Never.

We tried grass-fed beef from our herd the first time we butchered one. Too dry, stringy, tough and no taste.

If we are going to butcher a cow for the freezer for our own use now, we fatten it up for three months with some grain, protein and sweet molasses before it gets butchered to give it some fat marbling, tenderness and flavor.

We also keep the cow in a corral pen so it doesn't walk its fat off during those three months. Makes for much better, flavorable cuts of meat.

We don't eat processed foods either. Everything is fresh ingredients. Keeps our weight down and blood sugar in line.

".... I won’t surrender to the Red Hen. Never...."

What the hell does that mean? You go to them to suffer their bigotry and distaste for everything political they don't agree with? You purposely let them get under your skin? To what end? For what reason?

When I left home to go into the military as a young man, my dad gave me some sage advice.

Half the people you meet in the world will not like you no matter what you do or say. Don't spend time focusing on that half.

Focus on the half who like you or at least on those who don't hate you. Makes for a much more pleasant life experience.

The Little Red Hen is out of sight, out of mind to me. Let them wallow in their own liberal, hateful juices. I'll just go somewhere else to eat. Life's too short to fight every little battle.

Yeah, I forgot about Trump saying it was dirty. Once again, Trump was right. Surprise, their Yelp site is only working for a handful of reviews. Or not so surprising.

Both entrances have a high step into the restaurant that can't be negotiated with a wheelchair or such handicap.

We very rarely go out to eat and I’m always disappointed. I wrote off the only Mexican restaurant here three years ago when hubby insisted on taking me out to eat on Mother’s Day and the waitress suddenly couldn’t speak English to us right after flirting in English to a table full of men. No tip and no return of this customer.

That’s another thing, I hate to tip. Don’t jump on my case, I was a waitress during high school. What’s to tip? They bring you cold food and then ignore you. The bus boys do more for you by clearing off the table and haphazardly wiping it down with the same germ infested rag they used all day.

It’s ridiculous that burger joints like Sonic want tips for handing you a bag of burgers. I was a mystery shopper at Sonic when the kids were in school so they could get a quick snack but quit when the hand that handed us a burger was absolutely filthy and had a ton of black dirt under the nails. Drive thru joints are getting to be as expensive as sit down restaurants - Panda Express honey walnut shrimp (and they forgot to dress it with honey or walnuts) was a ridiculous $15 at the drive thru the last and final time I’m ever going there.

And don’t get me started on the lispy tattooed and pierced flaming gay waiters who try to flirt with hubby with me and the kids sitting right there - “Ooooh, helllllo there. I’m Shawwwwn and I’m here to serrrrve you with annnnything YOU!! wish.”

No thanks. I can get a good hot homemade meal on the table quicker, at a fraction of the cost and with no STD spittle.

Go in and order a coffee or soft drink and sit there for hours. Tie up a table and can’t do anything about the credit card.
