Ukrainian Official: Hunter Biden Appointed to Burisma’s Board to ‘Protect’ the Company

A Ukrainian official is claiming that Hunter Biden was only appointed to the board of directors of Burisma Holdings to “protect” the company at a time it faced foreign scrutiny over its business practices.

Oleksandr Onyshchenko, a former member of the Ukrainian parliament and ally of Burisma’s founder, made the admission to Reuters on Friday when discussing Hunter Biden’s ties to the oil and natural gas company.

“It was to protect (the company)” Onyshchenko said, noting that Hunter Biden’s appointment came the same month that Mykola Zlochevsky, Burisma’s founder, had his assets frozen in Great Britain under suspicion of money laundering.

The admission comes as Joe Biden and his aides rush to downplay the notion that Hunter Biden’s business dealings may have presented conflicts of interest for the former vice president. The controversy started last month when President Donald Trump suggested the Ukrainian government probe into how the younger Biden secured an appointment to Burisma’s board, shortly after his father was made the Obama administration’s point man on Ukraine.

As Peter Schweizer, senior contributor at Breitbart News, detailed in his book Secret Empires: How the American Political Class Hides Corruption and Enriches Family and Friends, Hunter Biden secured the position, which paid as much as $83,000 per month despite no background in energy or Ukraine. In fact, his background in investment banking, lobbying, and hedge fund management paled in comparison to that of current and past members of the company’s board of directors.

It’s about time this was stated clearly. Hunter Biden was worth the $83,000/month because he could use his father’s influence to protect Burisma from prosecution.

Maybe one should ask the question....how many company meetings did Hunter Biden actually attend, and how many days out of the year was he physically in the Ukraine. If we are talking about ten days or less....it’s comedy act to say he was involved in the company business.

Do me this favor. I won't forget it. Ask your friends in the neighborhood about me. They'll tell you I know how to return a favor.

...how many company meetings did Hunter Biden actually attend, and how many days out of the year was he physically in the Ukraine.

The Rueters article mentioned...What Hunter Biden did on the board of Ukrainian energy company Burisma
According to four sources close to the company, Biden regularly attended Burisma’s twice annual board meetings – all of which were held outside of Ukraine.
Snip...In between board meetings, “there were constant calls, dialogue, sharing of advice, consideration of different options,” the source said. “Expansion to other markets was also discussed,” the source added.

Does it matter how many days he was there.

The only prosecution we may see is if he did not pay his taxes properly.

Then what is it? Another slap on the wrist for the elite class.

$83,000/month, no experience necessary. Sounds like a good deal.

The Ukraine rate on income taxes is 18-percent. So far, I haven’t heard the story on his payment to them, or reporting it to the IRS.

A Ukrainian Official Verifies That Hunter Biden Was Appointed to Burisma’s Board to ‘Protect’ the Company

The implied threat is that Burisma would be subjected to Biden-inflicted harm if it failed to pay for protection

Protection rackets are indistinguishable from extortion rackets.

The Bidens had plenty of US govt muscle to backup the implied threats.

We really didn't need to hear this confession to know that hunter being on the board was what it appeared to be, nothing more or less than a bribe.

Buy hunter, get influence over joe and get Obama's tacit agreement.

The US gummint stayed away from the corruption in the gas company, because they were part of it.

It would be interesting to follow the whole trail of this monthly “salary”. After it went to Hunter, I wonder how it was disbursed after that. Joe? Hussein? Clinton Foundation? Inquiring minds want to know.

$83,000 per month equals $996,000 per year. Hunter Biden is the million dollar man!
