Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Thursday that northeastern Syria is suitable for Arab people to live, but not Kurdish people, because of the area’s desert topography.

“What is important is to prepare a controlled life in this enormous area, and the most suitable people for it are Arabs. These areas are not suitable for the lifestyle of Kurds ... because these areas are virtually desert,” Erdogan said, pointing to a map of the Syria, in an interview with Turkish television channel TRT.

Erdogan’s remarks attempt to defend Ankara’s military offensive, “Operation Peace Spring,” against Kurdish-led militias in Syria, which is still ongoing according to the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), despite a truce.

What would be nice is if the Turks were evicted from Greek Anatolia back to what is now Western China whence they emerged to terrorize the Middle East and Europe.

Eastern Asia Minor is a suitable place for Kurds and Armenians to live.

It is sickening that we need to deal with the BS gerrymandering of the Mideast. It’s not worth one drop of American blood.

Someone should remind Erdogan that Saudi Arabia has LOTS of desert and, as a plus, there are no Kurds there that would need to be ethnically cleansed or murdered. That would be an ideal space for the Arabs he wants to export from Turkey.

I can’t stand that Erdogan prick. When Trump says nice things about him I want to puke. It’s one of the very few things that I don’t agree with the President.

Imagine if such a statement were made in the US. For example, about resettling Somalis only to the Southwest desert because it was suitable for them; or even more outrageously, something about blacks and Liberia (didn't Abe Lincoln promote something like that?).

I wouldn’t read anything into his statement. It’s just his way of extending his middle finger to anyone who objects and saying “Don’t agree? Put up or shut up.” Historically-speaking, territory has accrued always to those who put up, and won, even if some ended up gifting their gains to what they considered worthy recipients.

Unfortunately PDJT must observe a NATO Treaty which includes Turkey.

If that were NOT the case, you would be seeing a much different posture from our President in relation to Erdogan.

Arab people? You mean those Arabs, who invaded Kurdish territory and have occupied it for centuries. You mean those Arabs, whose origin is the Arabian Peninsula?

How many of the people living in Turkey are of Arab extraction? Sound discriminatory to me.
