John Kelly, the former White House chief of staff who also headed Homeland Security, ....Asked by Larry O’Connor for his podcast about the long list of liberal House and Senate members who want to abolish ICE, Kelly, a former Marine Corps general, said, “They can go to hell. These are good people.”

He added, “The members of Congress who say those kinds of things, first of all, they don’t believe it, but they can go to hell because those people are doing within the law and within humanity exactly what they are supposed to be doing, and they focus on illegal aliens that are criminals.”

Pretty poor substitute for an actual argument, don’t you think?

Kelly is a turncoat. He’s one of those who POTUS trusted, but who thought that they should run their own agendas rather than help the president run his. And when Trump didn’t take every piece of advise they offered, they threw hissy fits, quit and went on bash-Trump tours on CNN and MSNBC.

Kelly didn’t agree with Trump, so he left. He’s still a hero whether you like it or not.

I don’t think General Kelly served his CIC very well either. He kept tripping over his ego.

That said, he’s certainly not “a piece of excrement”. And, I for one think the father of a son killed in combat is as close to a “sacred cow” as we have anymore.

I follow more your line of thinking; General Kelley is much more deserving of respect than anyone on the internet that’s prone to bashing him for not followed the conservative orthodoxy. That being said, he served at the pleasure of the President, and if he could not follow the directives of said President, he deserves some measure of derision for it.
