President Trump appealed to black voters Friday to support his reelection campaign, saying that Democrats in Congress are wasting their time on an impeachment effort that’s “failing fast” instead of working to improve black communities.
“Imagine if Democrats just put 10% of the energy they devote to attacking me and my administration to instead making this a better country for African American citizens,” Mr. Trump told a largely black audience in Atlanta.
The president said Democrats and the media are pushing “the deranged, hyper-partisan impeachment witch hunt, a sinister effort to nullify the ballots of 63 million patriotic Americans.”
“It’s not happening, by the way, that’s failing,” Mr. Trump said of impeachment. “It’s failing fast, it’s all a hoax.”
Mr. Trump spoke to the largely black audience of a few hundred people to launch his campaign’s outreach effort called “Black Voices for Trump.” The president in 2016 received support from only about 8% of black voters, and a Quinnipiac University poll this week showed him with only 2% support from blacks.Surveys last summer showed black support for the president dropping as well when he engaged in a high-profile feud with four female freshman Democratic lawmakers who are minorities.
But the president said his economic record should attract more blacks in this campaign, with minority unemployment at historic lows, and his criminal justice reform policies are also benefiting minorities.
“We’re undoing the damage inflicted by decades of corrupt Democrat rule, and creating a historic tide of new opportunity and prosperity,” Mr. Trump said. “We’ve done more for African Americans in three years than the broken Washington establishment has done in more than 30 years.”
The president portrayed the government shutdown in 2018 as a fight over illegal immigration.

You misquoted our president. What he actually said, on numerous occasions during the primaries and, in the general was, “what the hell do you have to lose!”
This was brilliant on multiple levels.
His follow-up to that was to engineer an economy that produced the lowest black American unemployment rate on record.
Ditto for Latino’s and Asian’s and nearly so for women.
The women’s record is nearly impossible to beat as it was set during WWII when millions of men went to war and women were needed to fill those vacancies.
Trump gets only 2% support from African Americans?! No way, more likely 10-20%. Maybe they used new math to get 2% from 20%?

He got 18 percent of the black male vote in 2016. Only 4 percent of the female vote.
The male number has likely gone up.
And he’s at 2 percent?!??!
This country’s pollsters and msm and dems and entertainment industry have become disgusting and repulsive and sickening.

Presently, if you go around the country, the numbers differ region-to-region. But it’s safe to say that black males are in the 30-to-35 percent range right now for Trump, and it might go as high as 50-percent by November 2020.
Varying reasons for this (jobs, Kanye West, the kid ABL and the Amazing Lucas off You-Tube, and the Silk and Diamonds ladies).
On black female votes, I’d say that it’s still near 10-to-15 percent.
Here’s the thing, if you got near 50-percent of black male votes walking away from the Democrats, with the Latino vote going up to around 30-percent....the urban-machine for the Democratic party is screwed up.
Right now in northern Alabama (around Huntsville), the unemployment rate is near 2.1-percent. A black kid with a HS diploma ought to be able with no drug activity, to get a good starter-job (way beyond McDonalds). All of this hyped-up business chatter is helping generate jobs, tax revenue, and demonstrates a great economy. Even blacks can appreciate what Trump has done.
Just walk onto the set of "The View" unannounced and put those harridans in their place like his son did recently. I bet $1,000.00 to JR/FR that ABC would pull the feed once he starts handing them their ass and proselytizing to the masses of brain mush women that watch that terrible show.
Instead of focusing on pressing issues that impact real families, like reducing gun violence, passing the USMCA, improving healthcare, lowering prescription drug costs, securing our southern border, and modernizing our aging infrastructure, the Democrats are choosing every day to waste time on a sham impeachment—a blatantly partisan attempt to destroy the President.
The Democrats want to raise taxes to punish successful businesses; the Democrats are "stuck on stupid" and driven by blind, mindless hate for Trump; the Democrats want to punish you for supporting Trump. What kind of future is that?
