Former Trump campaign official testifies Stone gave updates on WikiLeaks email dumps

President Trump's former deputy campaign manager told a jury on Tuesday that Roger Stone was giving the campaign updates on WikiLeaks' plans to release damaging emails stolen from the Democratic National Committee and Hillary Clinton's campaign chairman.

Rick Gates, who is facing up to ten years in prison under a plea agreement for various fraud charges, testified in Stone's criminal trial on Tuesday, saying that the longtime Trump associate was telling the campaign about WikiLeaks' plans as early as April 2016, months before the DNC had announced it was hacked.

Stone is facing charges of lying to Congress about his role as an intermediary between WikiLeaks and the Trump campaign. He has pleaded not guilty.

Gates testified that there were high-level campaign meetings to discuss WikiLeaks releases and that there was a "state of happiness" among aides over the damaging information about their rival.

"Any time that you’re in a campaign and damaging information comes out on your competitor, it’s helpful," he said.

A little over a week after WikiLeaks released the trove of DNC emails on July 22, 2016, Stone had a phone conversation with Trump. Gates told the jury on Tuesday that the candidate "indicated that more information would be coming” after speaking with Stone.

It seems to me that everything he might have shared with the campaign was coming out on the national news, anyway. And, it continues to strike me as weird how the Dems can be so upset about the hacking of emails and not upset about what the emails actually said. They merely showed their dirty laundry.

A dump update is not the same as a conspiracy beforehand to dump.

Impossible as the DNC leaks were done in June/July 2016, as the lat of the emails had that as a date. It was unknown in April that the DNC emails were leaked. Gates is not being truthful here. And he may have been confused between the previously released Hillary emails from the State Department versus the DNC.

“WikiLeaks”

Note the use of the word “Leaks”. It implies an inside source with authorized access.

I remember these being dumped and the USG telling employees that if they accessed them they would be “illegally accessing classified or unclassified documents not authorized for their purview or access”.

Remember the list of 79 Hillary Clinton MSM people being paid by her campaign?

And yet Hillary Clinton can be fed debate questions in advance and not only is she never questioned or prosecuted but the leaker gets named to lead the DNC. Democrat cheating is just winked at. Laws are for the peasants.

The "Guccifer" Clinton email hacks were publicly discussed and released in 2013, by April 2016 it was public knowledge that WikiLeaks was in the market for more emails, and many parties besides Stone were keeping track of WikiLeaks updates.

Okay this I did NOT know. I always thought Assange acted independently on the Hillary email file. So is this true then? Was the Trump campaign made aware by Assange that Wikileaks was going to make a dump of Hillary’s emails?
