Commie free stuff just vote for us and later maybe, when we get around to our promise we’ll do it, if we’re not busy messing up the economy someway.

In the US, that tactic works well. In the UK/Europe, I got to believe it would work even better.

It costs anywhere from $300 to $2000 a foot to lay fiber depending on the location.

No Sir, Amazon will gladly support paying more taxes without recouping it in merchandise prices. And no, your Prime fee will not go up either. /sarc

Free broadband? In a country where you have to pay a tax to watch television?!

Actually we pay tax to watch tv too, except that the regulator of the US airwaves, the FCC, is funded with a portion of the budget, not a per-tv tax.

Oldy moldy ...

8th grade election for class president.
Janie goes to all the teachers, gets them to cut back on homework, gets promise for more towels in the locker rooms, and generally campaigns for a ‘better’ school experience.

Johnnie sits around, does nothing but weewee off all the teachers and kids, does nothing and the odds have it Janie will win in a walk.

Come election day and Janie wraps up her campaign with impressive posters, lots of support and is the darling of ALL.

They have to wake Johnnie up to address the assembled voters and he says

“I will make this short and sweet and we can even call it my Victory speech”

Free Ice Cream at my house after the election.

Johnnies mother went through 50 gals of ice cream that afternoon as Johnny won in a landslide.
