President Trump has granted clemency to two Army officers accused or convicted of war crimes and restored Navy SEAL Eddie Gallagher to the rank of chief petty officer after he was docked a pay grade after being convicted of posing for a photo with a dead Islamic State (ISIS) fighter, the White House announced Friday.

Army 1st Lt. Clint Lorance could be released from the military prison at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, as soon as Friday evening, six years after being found guilty of second-degree murder. Maj. Matt Golsteyn, a former Green Beret, will have the murder charge against him dropped.

these are great moves by President Trump in supporting our soldiers ... the only question is if the looney left attacks Trump for doing this, which is essentially the same thing as attacking our soldier directly ... anyone who believes in our military won’t take such attacks kindly
the other thing these pardons should do is to send a message to the brass to quit persecuting soldiers who put their lives on the line daily ...

Clint Lorrance got totally railroaded, and I pray this fine young leader can be made whole, and at least compensated with rank and back pay for the years he lost...No way to ever make right what was done to him...Thanks Mr. President!

Clemency is mercy while a pardon is forgiveness.
A pardon is a form of clemency; clemency being the general term while pardon is the specific...
POTUS pardoned Lorance and Golstyn, and reversed Gallagher’s demotion and reinstated his rank...
That is my understanding of Pres Trump’s actions today...
