In his final New Rule of the season, Bill Maher calls on Americans to put aside their political differences. "This year, just celebrate Thanksgiving. Don't try to win it. "You have to destroy. You have to own people. Except the person who gets owned doesn't change their mind. They just make a mental note never to interact again with DM_Me_Your_Titties." "Lately we've been hearing more and more about a second civil war which sounds impossible in this modern, affluent country. It is not,” Maher said. “We talk about Trump as an existential threat, but his side sees Democratic control of government the exact same way. When both sides believe the other guy taking over means the end of the world, yes, you can have a civil war."

That quite is true, Bill Maher, but not for the reasons you’ll be giving.

I HATE to sound like a downer, but no matter HOW MUCH Trump changes the country for the better (which will be a LOT) dems can undo that in 2 years if they win in 2024.
I HATED obama but I KNEW we would survive him and BOY does 8 years go fast.
There’s no dictators. Why have a war? Just win. Like obummer said, elections have consequences.
This time they were good ones.
After the Trump rally in Lexington, we went out to our car to find a dead battery. The kid that lived across the street (20 something) offered to give us a jump. We were all very friendly with each other. We were there in our Trump 2020 hats and he admitted that he was a strong bernie supporter. It was not a problem at all.
I think it’s only the “radical leftists” that like to “protest, carry signs and such” that are the problem.

Count me out of a civil war that doesn’t have at it’s core the (almost) complete elimination of our political class and the structures that created them.

Maher is correct. The difficulty is that for those for whom politics is a religion there really isn’t much else to talk about.

He speaks truth this time. But, I cannot live with Bill Maher.
Captain Obvious speaks. The differences stand little chance of being bridged at the moment, as the last crossing of the river was burned in the wake of the other side’s passage.
However, they are still in mortar range, and even the furthest out are not beyond the tracking by armed drones.
