A substitute teacher who told a class of fifth graders in Utah County last month that homosexuality is a sin has been fired.
The staffing company that employed the woman announced in a statement Monday morning that after an investigation into her comments which have received widespread attention it made the decision to end the employees relationship with Kelly Services.
....On Nov. 21, a week before Thanksgiving, the woman was filling in at the school and asked students: What are you thankful for this year?
An 11-year-old boy in the class responded, Im thankful that Im finally going to be adopted by my two dads.
Students later said that the substitute snapped, Why on earth would you be happy about that? And for the next 10 minutes she lectured the 30 kids about her own views, how homosexuality is wrong and two men living together is a sin. She looked at the boy, too, and told him: Thats nothing to be thankful for.

OMG , all that Brainwashing of the kids could be gone ,LOL
She should have ended her statement with, ...as it says in the Koran.
“Teacher should have been circumspect.”
Too many normal people deciding to be “circumspect” have ceded the public square to the crazies and led us to this precipice.
Homosexuality is not a sin. The behavior is.
Fifth graders can not handle learning about sex they are pre pubescent. It is abusive to discuss sex with them
Joe Biden started all of this
Hoping Kelly Services values the value of her Christian values.
She should have framed the discussion around ISLAM, and let them all choke on it.
Leviticus 18:22 -
Leviticus 20:13 -
Homosexuality IS a behavior, so yes, it is a sin.
Talk about semantics.....
It would have been interesting to re-frame the whole thing.
“Are you a Muslim? No? Well, then you sure are lucky! If you were a Muslim and were being adopted by two men, it would be nothing to be thankful for! The Koran is very clear on this. The Holy Koran says that homosexuals are sinning and deserve punishment. But you are lucky! You are not a Muslim!”
Other child: “But teacher, don’t other religions also say it’s a sin?”
Teacher: [shrug] “Oh, I can’t talk about that. Only Islam can be discussed in government schools.”
Thats nothing to be thankful for.
Followed by Epstein did not kill himself.
The June 2015 gay marriage ruling means equal legal protection excludes tens of millions of Jewish, Christian, and Muslim believers who consider classical scholarship finds homosexual relationships separate people from God. The Bible continually speaks of the character, identity, and purpose of God; identifying Him as masculine and humans as feminine in relation to Him. After creating all things, He created the covenant of heterosexual marriage to example the unconditional love relationship He desires with humanity. Without disturbing the spiritual quality of marriage, equal protection could have been maintained by civil contract with the elegant, endless expressions legislators enjoy.
The First Amendment says and used to mean, Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press .
We are familiar with the term speech or expression, which seems an innocuous expansion of the above amendment. However, expression enables a nearly unbounded multi-billion dollar pornography industry.
Justice Kennedys majority opinion stated, The First Amendment ensures that religious organizations and persons are given proper protection as they seek to advocate and teach the principles that are so fulfilling and central to their lives and faith. Such language severely restricts religious freedom by excluding free exercise thereof.
The country has so departed from first principles that a woman can express herself in the adult film industry, but cannot operate a bakery and exercise her religious convictions by refusing to bake a wedding cake for a gay couple.
Utah?
Are Mormons that liberal?....................
Hey....these aint your Grammas Kelly Girls anymore...
The behavior is a sin. The disease is a challenge to the afflicted.
The Kelly Services teacher could have gone through Leviticus and pointed to all the students whose parents have violated Leviticus.
You are so, so right! This crap of not speaking the truth as it might offend someone has to end. Not only end, it has to be rolled back a couple of decades.
Duh? They elected Mittens McRomney to the US Senate didn't they?
How does that even come up in an average 5th graders day?
I would love to hear the context.
OK. I read the article. I should always do that first.
