Schiff’s Surveillance State: The Democrat demands, and then discloses, the call logs of his opponents.
Wall Street Journal ^ | December 4, 2019

Democrats are trying to convince Americans that President Trump should be ousted for trying to “dig up dirt” on a rival. They’d have more credibility if they didn’t abuse their surveillance powers for drive-by smears of Republicans and a free press.

Adam Schiff’s 300-page House Intelligence impeachment report doesn’t include much new about Mr. Trump’s Ukrainian interventions. But it does disclose details of telephone calls between ranking Intelligence Republican Devin Nunes, Trump attorneys Rudy Giuliani and Jay Sekulow, reporter John Solomon, former Giuliani associate Lev Parnas, the White House, and others. The details are “metadata” about the numbers and length of the calls, not the content.

The impeachment press is playing this as if the calls are a new part of the scandal, but the real outrage here is Mr. Schiff’s snooping on political opponents. The Democrat’s motive appears to be an attempt to portray Mr. Nunes, a presidential defender and Mr. Schiff’s leading antagonist in Congress, as part of a conspiracy to commit impeachable offenses.

“It is, I think, deeply concerning, that at a time when the President of the United States was using the power of his office to dig up dirt on a political rival, that there may be evidence that there were members of Congress complicit in that activity,” Mr. Schiff told the press on Tuesday. Complicit in what? Doing his job of Congressional oversight? Talking to Mr. Trump’s lawyer to get a complete view of the Ukrainian tale? Apparently Mr. Schiff now wants to impeach Members of Congress too.

This is unprecedented and looks like an abuse of government surveillance authority for partisan gain. Democrats were caught using the Steele dossier to coax the FBI into snooping on the 2016 Trump campaign. Now we have elected members of Congress using secret subpoenas.

Adam Schiff needs to be in prison as soon as possible.

Schiff is a CIA tool, so this comes as no surprise.

Brennan is still the ringleader, leading the coup from outside. The rest are his minions.

Not to defend the Dems but it wasn’t secret. Nunes said on Levin they saw the subpeona a month ago but apparently the GOP were too lazy to research whose phone numbers Schiff was subpoenaing.

One does wonder when Barr is going to get off his lazy ass while this goes on and while Epstein’s associates die at very inconvenient times for the prosecution (his banker and his plastic surgeon).

The real problem is that no Dem is being held accountable for this garbage, at least not so far.

Due process would require the ability to subpoena call records from Schiff's staff to various Ukrainian-tied figures, and to the whistleblower. But due process wasn't applied, just Schiff process.

Yes. An appallingly lawless state for the Dem politicians. I am in a state of shock at the FACT that any Dem can commit any crime they want and never be held accountable.

Do you remember how the media pushed for 8+ years how scandal-free the Obama administration was, despite how ridiculous that claim was?

Now that the other party is in the white house, the opposite narrative is being cultivated and propagated, with a great deal of machination and scheming.

Apparently, the formula adopted by the axis of evil (DNC, deep-state, and the collusive media) is simple; Chances of “us” winning is directly proportional to the perception of Trump scandal subtracted by the perception of democrat scandal.

This all isn’t just scandal peddling by the media.
It’s a long term conspiracy by a lot of people in power.

So it seems. And the next scam will be that the results of the Barr-Durham investigation will be kept secret all next year because they don’t want to interfere with the election.

In a sane world Adam Schiff would be flipping burgers for a living.

In other words Schiff-for-brains and the democrats are blatantly guilty of exactly what they are trying to manufacture against the President. The leftists are accusing others of the crimes they themselves are openly committing. What...a...shock... :-/

Could you imagine the category 5 stink that would ensue if POTUS called up AT&T and said for them to give him the records of this, that or the other? The drumbeat for resignation would be relentless. But it's okay if slime like Schiff does it, since he's part of the #resistance against Trump McHitler.

I suspect that Barr is a swamp critter himself. At this point I would only trust sekulow as the AG.

Tomorrow. He has already solved the Epstein murder, it was suicide, he watched the videos, you know, the ones they said didn't exist because of malfunctions.

Those here that believe Barr will help the President are just deluding themselves, if he were going to help, then the classified documents that the President gave him the authority to release, would already be public. (Unless of course they wouldn't help)

Negative thinkers are always right........... or pleasantly surprised.

Really sucks doesn't it. I refused to watch any TV coverage of the last election preferring to see if we chose suicide or not. I didn't like but the voters or the vote fixers gave us Suicide. Once we accept that it gets easier.

There is a White Knight coming but we have rejected Him.
