UPDATE 11:50 a.m. The shooting suspect at NAS Pensacola was an aviation student from Saudi Arabia, the Associated Press is reporting.
The AP is reporting that authorities are investigating if the shooting was terrorism-related.

He was a Lieutenant in the Saudi military training with the US Navy. Not a civilian flight student. Weird story. Where did he get the gun? How long had he been in the US?

[Sheriff] Morgan would not say if the shooter belonged to the military and said he did not want to speculate on whether the shooting was terrorism-related.
