“I thought that was clear in the post.”

No. Not where.

Commercials?

Hollywood ‘films’ seems would answer your question of where......which is in the post as stated before.

Ehhh. I can't watch television anymore, even if it happens to be an older movie I like, because I simply cannot stomach the commercials.

Granted, I did see one recently in a medical setting from AT&T (who are admittedly a hotbed of Leftism and Political Correctness...but all the carriers are for some reason) that I found hilarious: AT&T: "OK is not OK"..."Guess who was just reinstated! Well, not officially!"

But even though the pandering to women, homosexuals, and minorities is irritating, it wouldn't bother me as much if they didn't also have to portray men in general as stupid, overweight and incompetent.

Sigh. If it does go unpunished, we are finished as a country.

We are a Republic that is governed by the rule of law. If the rules of law are subverted so that a sailor who unwittingly takes a picture of the inside of a submarine goes to jail for years, and a politician who breaks every felony law regarding the handling of classified materials and government documents in general is not even admonished, well, we are done.

And that says nothing about one party using the instruments of government to spy on and selective prosecute members of an opposing political party.

Unbelievable.

I recommend Netflix, Acorn and Britbox.

They have hours and hours of very good programming that does not have the things you find offensive

Yes...I have Netflix, but...I have been considering dumping that as well due to their political actions, but...at least you can pick and choose.

I may check out Acorn and Britbox...thank you for the suggestion, bert...

Commercials are rare in my selective viewing and only a signal it's time to use the John or fix a snack when they do appear.

I found years ago that commercials are not about introducing a new product or advertising a business etc. ....rather a huge well oiled 'propaganda' intrusion.

I found Amazon much better viewing for movies. Netflex is full of trash and selectively chooses to push the leftist agenda. As soon as the Obamas got involved it went downhill really fast....and their documentaries are not worth even considering.

Well said and right on.

And if they get away with this, there will be a next time and next time will make this time seem like child’s play. They’ll go full Stalin/Hitler on us.

”Hollywood films” isn’t mentioned anywhere. You mentioned something cryptic about “loading film”.

I’m just curious what you’re talking about, which films or TV shows.

Probably both perceived and real, IMO.

Netflix is, as a matter of public record, fully on board with the Leftist agenda (see their ridiculous and highly public support and association with the Obamas) and their programming they offer borders on the disgusting.

As Freeper caww said, the documentaries they offer aren't things we would watch, but fall in line with the Michael Moore crowd, not to mention their overt push of the homosexual agenda. They even have a dedicated channel for that.

Ugh.

So, the purist course is to throw out the babies with the hearsay bathwater.

The babies are of no value

This is a bit long, but there isn't any animus directed at you. I understand the point you make.

I wouldn't view the Netflix political agenda as hearsay. This is public knowledge, and they at Netflix are apparently quite proud of it:

I have been a Netflix user since probably 2000-2003 or so (I think) when we were only doing the mailing of DVD's, which I liked, then we went to only streaming. But over the years, the choices are fewer and fewer unless you want to watch THEIR programs and productions, which I don't. I avoid them like the plague after watching a few.

In summary, for me, it has just become less and less worth it.

I don't believe in telling others what to do with their personal choices, who they buy from and who they don't. I only do this for my own choices, but some (including many here on Free Republic) like to pillory people because they buy from this company or that, or purchase goods made in China, watch the NFL, or listen to some entertainer or watch movies from some actor.

I don't. I do it for myself and myself alone. As a conservative, I believe people should have the right to do as they please and make their own choices without coercion. So you won't hear, read, or see me beat up on anyone because they patronize someone I despise.

I have made choices. I had a Bank of America account for some 45 years (with banks that were eventually acquired by them) but I had enough of their crap, and convinced my wife to allow us to move all of our accounts to another bank, a very lengthy and complicated process for us. I don't buy Gillette after a life of using it. Same with Coke, which I might well have been their all time single personal use buyer leader...but I don't drink their product unless I have to have something and there is nothing else. And let me tell you, when you are on the road, the choices for diet soda are often limited. And I will say, I never knew how far their tentacles went into the liquid drink business. Since I got in the habit of looking at the labels, I was astonished to see the products I never knew were subsidiaries of Coca Cola.

As for entertainment, I have a long list of actors I won't watch unless forced to, and there are musical artists (eg Pink Floyd) and literary authors (eg Stephen King) I simply won't use my time on.

But those are my choices. Netflix might well be another one. What I get out of it is just getting to the point the satisfaction for their product doesn't outweigh the baggage they carry.
