Horowitz hits FBI 'failures' in Senate testimony after FISA court rebuke

Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz rebuked the FBI on Wednesday for "failures" during the initial phase of the Russia probe, in his second round of Senate testimony following his extensive report on the investigation's origins and the process used to obtain a surveillance warrant for former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page.

Sen. Josh Hawley, R-Mo., was blunt in trying to get to the bottom of what happened during Wednesday's Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee hearing.

"Were they just all incompetent?" he asked. Hawley then noted that due to the complexities involved, "it doesn’t sound like they’re very stupid to me."

Hawley ultimately asked why the members of the FBI would commit such failures to mislead a court multiple times.

"That was precisely the concern we had," Horowitz said. The inspector general made clear that he did not reach any conclusions regarding intent, but he did not necessarily accept the reasons people gave him during his investigation.

"There are so many errors, we couldn’t reach a conclusion or make a determination on what motivated those failures other than we did not credit what we lay out here were the explanations we got," Horowitz said.

Horowitz previously appeared before the Senate Judiciary Committee in the aftermath of his report on the subject, but Wednesday’s hearing before the Senate homeland security panel comes a day after the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (FISC) sharply criticized the FBI in a rare public order that referenced his findings.

Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., indicated that this would be a flawed assumption, questioning whether Horowitz's inability to find evidence of bias really meant that there had not been any bias.

"Just because you didn’t find it doesn’t mean it didn’t exist,” Paul said.

The inspector general made clear that he did not reach any conclusions regarding intent,

Oh, he did. He was not allowed to write about them in his report because of the scope of the report.

“Failures”? I just checked my Thesaurus and can’t find “criminality” as a synonym of “failures”.

The FBI is like an Islamic refugee who goes berserk and stabs lots of people outside a synagogue while yelling “Allahu Ackbar! Jihad! Jihad!”

In other words, there’s just no way to identify a motive ...

Saying they failed, made mistakes, were sloppy is like saying a bank robber made mistakes and was sloppy and made mistakes because he didn’t fill out a withdrawal slip first.

This is part of the reason why the impeachment was pushed up....no news about this at all in the so called “news”.

“The inspector general made clear that he did not reach any conclusions regarding intent”

As if finding “intent” would make any difference at all...

James Comey testifying before Congress, 7/7/16: “Clinton should have known better than to send classified information. I think she was extremely careless. I think she was negligent. That I could establish. What we can't establish is that she acted with the necessary criminal intent."

I think the FISA court judge’s supposed “rebuke” yesterday was just to cover for Comey and the gang, making it seem as if there were just so many “failures” it was a matter of bad procedure rather than a flat-out coup attempt by the intelligence services.

It all gets back to the "coincidences" thing. If you flip a coin 100 times and it come sup Heads 100 times, people are going to know -- absolutely KNOW -- that you have a two-headed coin.

Information will be coming out that makes it clear that there were no mistakes and no sloppiness. This was a centrally managed coup that started with Obama.

Can we all add Horowitz, Sullivan and Collyer to the naughty Do Not Trust list yet.

Not that I ever trusted them.

Mistakes, incompetence are great cover for corruption/abuse/fraud and illegal activity.

“Mistakes” were made, corrections are being implemented...

Meanwhile the swam goes unpunished.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Obama would not have been in office if BOTH parties had not colluded to violate the Constitution.
Obama is NOT a natural born citizen.
No child of a foreign national is NATURALLY an American because they are also born something else.
So Mueller says can’t prove intent in his report
Horowitz says he can’t prove intent or bias
FISA Judge now knows warrant was wrong/obtained under false pretenses
But no one gets charged.
Yet today, our President is going to get impeached by the House because of what they thought he might do/ his intent was biased etc
“Failures” ... a euphemism for demokrap/FBI/CIA criminal acts.
Horowitz opened a can of worms, did anyone go fishing? 17 “failures” here,... is this normal agency behavior? Sounds like the premier “defender of our freedoms” ... the “rule of law” agency that Webster has been running around defending against criticism is filled with failures.
Horowitz should have been called out that he failed to explain the neat pattern of failures .... all committed against Trump (not statistically random). Does he remember what he studied in criminal law about conspiracy? He is effectively protecting the agency criminals.
