Brother of Yin, famous conjoined brothers.
First pair of brothers to orbit the erf.
Invented orange-flavored drink still popular among astronauts.
Several decades ago, I was working in California, and would read the LA Times on the bus, on my way to work. I discovered that the Times routinely 'played fast & loose' with their photos/captions. Some examples (from memory):
Photo of lawn at Central Receiving Hospital, with campers (after Whittier Narrows quake); caption stated it was lawn at LA City Hall.
Photo of British King George V class battleship; caption stated it was German battleship Bismarck.
Photo of full-auto MAC10 being fired (with about a dozen empty cases visible in the air); caption described it as semi-auto 'assault weapon'.
Photo of RMS Titanic on builder's trials, prior to transfer to White Star Line; caption declared it was the same ship 'departing on its ill-fated maiden voyage'.
I wrote the paper on multiple occasions, pointing out the errors; but the discrepancies continued, suggesting that the Times was far more interested in dramatic photos & captions, than accurate reporting. I very quickly stopped reading the rag; if they couldn't even get simple photo captions correct, God only knows what kind of crap they were churning out in their 'news' articles.
Traditionally, we Americans have equated the term 'news' with 'the truth'. Today's 'journalists', however, seem to be entirely focused on selling a 'product' to viewers or readers, and anything resembling 'the truth' is definitely optional...
I'm sure it was just an accident. /sarc Check out YouTube for CNBC's snips -- always shots on Trump, including some "professor" giving "analysis" of the strike that killed that Iranian terrorist-in-chief.
Padma Lakshmi, huh... yeah, I'm sure that's done by accident too. ;^D
whoa... striking resemblance to bruised gender...
It seems readily apparent that none of these “news” agencies even keep stock images on file anymore. Some clown of an intern gets tasked to get a photo of the article’s subject from online and they just type it into a search engine and presume that the result is correct. Absolute dereliction and laziness.
Was she born a female?
At least they had the correct race for Yang.
At least that’s an awesome pic.
Well, ‘Squawk Box’ sound interesting. Any other tricks?
